CHIEF INVESTMENTS OFFICER

Here is an opportunity for an exceptional individual to take a key role in shaping and contributing to future success of a diversified investment fund management business with a portfolio of assets including real estate; local and offshore fixed interest; bonds, as well as local and offshore equity.

THE PRIMARY ROLE of the successful candidate will be to maintain the pre- eminence of our institution as a leading investment management company. In this endeavor, the Chief Investments Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer and be accountable for:

  1. Leadership provision to the Investment Management Team
  2. Origination and presentation of investment appraisals and performance reports to the firm’s Investment Committee and to the boards of Trustees/Directors of various institutional clients
  3. Strategic innovation in services and product offerings in line with the evolving needs of the target market
  4. Development and implementation of diversified investment strategies for all asset classes
  5. Formulate investment policies consistent with the needs of various clients and products
  6. Investments monitoring and risk management
  7. Building and maintaining relationships with the trustees, regulators and other stakeholders
  8. Investment research and portfolio management process enhancement
  9. Managing the execution of the approved annual plans
  10. Contribute to the development and implementation of the firm’s overall strategy, including succession planning

THE CHALLENGES include the continuous broadening and deepening of investment processes; the regular revitalization and re focusing of the company’s value proposition, meeting high level client expectations and client retention.

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable in relating to business leaders, Trustees, regulators country wide. The role also demands the ability to innovate and to respond creatively to a rapidly changing environment both in-country and regionally. It requires a deep understanding of how financial markets operate plus an awareness of the key drivers of the business environment and the local as well as the global economy. Exceptional leadership management, business acumen, motivational and communications skills are also essential.

THE QUALIFICATIONS – We seek a dynamic candidate who is a CFA Charter holder with a Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Natural Sciences, Engineering or Banking. He/she will have a distinguished and relevant record in investment management, significant network of relationships, some experience in capital rising, longstanding skills in management and solid knowledge of financial services.
