Product Performance Analysis Senior Specialist

Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc (Zanaco) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Commercial Division under the Products & ChannelsDepartment at Head Office:-

PRODUCT PERFORMANCE SENIOR SPECIALIST (X1)

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for analysing product performance, interpreting business’s scope and objectives, and come up with analytics and reports that help to drive product strategy and profitability.

Under the supervision of the Head Products & Channels, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:-

  • Undertake revenue assurance checks and generate user metrics for all products and channels and raise relevant flags to the leadership team.
  • Evaluate data formulated in conjunction with the Product Analyst and other team members.
  • Apply the results in influencing the direction that other product departments take as well as informing decisions of the business.
  • Work closely with other business and data departments in order to develop core data sets that promote accurate product analyses.
  • Partner with other product teams in Product and Channels department for the purpose of defining goals collaboratively as well as the identification of key metrics for the products.
  • Work closely with the Product Specialists and aid the rapid design of experimental products and iterate on the results.
  • Liaise with senior management in matters of significance in order to determine methods and techniques that will lead a product project into successful completion.
  • Responsible for educating or informing of other team members of the Products and Channels department on the patterns and trends in consumer behavior.
  • Point out new product opportunities and present reports that are meant to increase an overall understanding of key product metrics.
  • Provide feedback on product quality to product teams.
  • Conduct random product quality checks to ensure that they are in compliance with local and international quality standards.
  • Evaluate quality check trends in the market to ensure that the business product quality is always up to standard.
  • Responsible for the development and management of the product’s quality review process.
  • Responsible for presenting proposed budgeting allocations to the Head of Products as well as maintaining account summaries of particular products.
  • Responsible for organizing and analyzing audit data as well as summarizing audit findings for the Head-Product and Channels review.
  • Any other responsibilities or tasks as assigned by management.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACT

  • External: Service providers, e.g. software and hardware suppliers, regulators etc.
  • Internal: All Divisions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering.
  • Certifications in either CFA or Data Analytics in an added advantage.
  • At least five (5) years banking/commercial experience.
  • A proven track record in the use of quantitative analysis to impact key product decisions.
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate results of complex analyses.
  • Experience with working in a scripting language.
  • Concrete understanding of common statistical methods and applications such as experimentation, regression, and probabilities.
  • Familiarity with international best practices and global trends in the sector.
  • Technical knowledge in business finance tools, products and methodologies (sales management, CRM, issuing & acquiring, credit scoring, collections, product development, etc.).
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory issues typical for country banking system.
  • Knowledge and analytical skills; ability to understand main aspects of a financial institution’s operations.
  • Ability to quickly convert complex business processes into understandable and easy-to-manage processes and decision points.
  • Ability to creatively analyse and adapt functional requirements into alignment with any budgetary constraints and emerging technologies.
