Agricultural SME Development – Various Positions

RTI International (www.rti.org) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to conducting innovative, multidisciplinary research that improves the human condition.

Around the globe, RTI’s work is helping foster stronger food systems, reduce malnutrition in all its forms, build resilience and engage the next generation of food security leaders. RTI is currently partnering on nearly 30 projects in East Africa, including activities focused on private sector-driven agricultural growth in Rwanda and market systems development in Kenya. In Zambia, RTI has implemented research and programs in the health and education sectors since 1999 and is currently supporting a USAID-funded accountable governance initiative. In anticipation of an upcoming agricultural enterprise development activity in Zambia, RTI is recruiting for the following positions:

1. Deputy Chief of Party: Minimum 12 years’ experience in agribusiness and private sector development. Deep knowledge of Zambian agricultural SME sector and experience facilitating SME access to finance and investment. Experience cultivating and managing partnerships with public and private sector organizations.

2. Senior Technical Manager (Chipata-based): Minimum 10 years’ experience in agribusiness and private sector development. Experience in Eastern Zambia. Experience managing staff, activities, and partners. Knowledge of SME financing and business development services.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Manager: Minimum 6 years’ experience in program monitoring, evaluation, and learning. Demonstrated ability to lead design, implementation, and development of monitoring systems, databases, and tools.

4. Access to Finance Specialist: Minimum 8 years’ experience in facilitating access to finance for SMEs in the agricultural sector. Knowledge of and experience in alternative financing mechanisms desired, as well as facilitating finance for women entrepreneurs.
