KEY RESPONSIBILIES

  1. Receive vehicle on incoming w/b and enter details of contract into the w/b computer system
  2. Draw off samples from the vehicle, provide to QA for further approvals
  3. Operate and maintain full PLC system and manual sliding gates to unload silos
  4. Operate cleaner by insuring correct screens is fitted for correct product.
  5. Housekeeping, insuring all silos and Elevators are locked at all times.
  6. Insuring correct product movement to avoid mixture of product at all times.
  7. Cleaning of storage bins as required, as well as in and around the silo’s
  8. Preparation of stock sheets, stock declarations and temperature readings
  9. Comply with Health and Safety, Fire and Environmental legislation and policies
  10. Provide support to the management to run the site in a safe and efficient manner
  11. Ensure site security is maintained at all times
  12. Operation of the silo’s for loading and unloading of 1 commodity at a time
  13. Keep records as required by Quality Assurance or any relevant government legislation

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Factory Manager, the Silo operator will be responsible to manage galvanized steel silo’s, to meet the commercial requirements of Seba Foods’ whilst maximising efficiency and upholding quality, health, safety and environmental standards. He/She will be responsible to liaise with Logistics, WAl, Procurement, Accounts and Production Manager while operating the silos.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Proficiency and experience in handling inventory
  2. PLC experience
  3. Silo operation experience will be a benefit. Good teamworking skills
  4. English Verbal and written communication skills
  5. Electrical or ITI Diploma or Related Qualification
  6. Able to work at heights
  7. IT literate with experience of using Microsoft office
  8. A flexible approach to working hours specifically in peak periods
  9. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally.
  10. Ability to work co-operatively with others and independently at times without supervision

BACKGROUND

The Scaling Up Family Planning (SUFP) programme, implemented by Abt Associates and funded with UK aid from the UK government, works with the Ministry of Health and key stakeholders to address unmet needs for family planning by scaling up services in selected hard to reach communities. Since the inception of Phase 1 in March 2012, the programme has expanded access to modern family planning methods by mobilising communities, building service delivery capacity in public health facilities, and strengthening commodity distribution in targeted districts. This has resulted in an additional 295,100 women and girls using a family planning method and achieving 578,240 couple years of protection. The second phase began in July 2016 and will institutionalise the SUFP model in Zambia and support its implementation in new provinces and districts. The expected outcomes are the full ownership and implementation of the SUFP model by the Ministry of Health, and significant contribution towards achievement of the FP2020 targets.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Consultant will provide all required Supply Chain and research services needed to support the SUFPII project team, specifically:

  1. Coordinate with the project staff to implement robust supply chain systems, identify and monitor key program activities in order to document results, and ensure the integration of system and results into the Ministry of Health system’s decision-management processes.
  2. Support the development of the National FP Training Database for LARC providers & TOTs, CBDs, ASRH cutting across all technical areas.
  3. Work in collaboration with MoH to ensure that MSL finalize stock list and unit sizes standardization and regularly provides monthly stock updates to districts on FP commodities.
  4. Supporting the collection, analysis, and reporting of routine project supply chain data.
  5. Technical support to train selected CBD and depot holders in EMLIP system at community level in districts of both Central and Western Provinces and produce final report.
  6. Participate in technical support to Western and Central province and districts to conduct audit trials and destination checks for contraceptives and CBD Supply System.
  7. Technical Support to District Pharmacists, DHIOs and Health centre staff to improve supply chain data accuracy and data management and analysis for family planning (FP) commodities for use in Forecasting and Quantification.
  8. In order to address the issue of facilities that experience stock-outs during the rainy season, assist with mapping the worst affected health facilities and support MCH coordinators and district pharmacists at those facilities to pre-position sufficient FP commodities ahead of the rainy season.
  9. Carry out any other duties as may be required by the Country Director or Supply Chain Advisor.

CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Our Pharmacists work closely with medical and nursing staff to ensure that patients receive the best medication, advising on the selection, dose and administration route. They are experts in the field of Pharmacy practice and are responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the hospital/clinic pharmacy.

KEY DUTIES:

  1. Ensure that MBCC policies and procedures, and local regulations relating to pharmacovigilance, prescribing, dispensing, recall, expiration and disposal of medications, and clinical consumables are adhered to at all times.
  2. Assess the identity, strength and purity of medications.
  3. Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper medication storage.
  4. Engage in therapeutic drug monitoring, dose calculation and adjustment to fit patient needs.
  5. Ensure that patient prescriptions are accurate, legible and content appropriate.
  6. Manage ARVs logistics and information systems, dispense ARVs and offer adherence counselling to patients on HAART.
  7. Provide patient education on the proper use of devices such as epinephrine injection pens, asthma ventilators, diabetes blood sugar monitor etc.
  8. Ensure that all expiry dates for medications and disposables are checked monthly and that drugs are used on a first in first out (FIFO) principle.
  9. Plan, implement, and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.
  10. Compound and dispense medications as prescribed by doctors and dentists, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, or oversee these activities being performed.
  11. Ensure that all expired and disposables are disposed off according to standard operating procedure.
  12. Maintain storage and cold chain of all refrigerated medications.
  13. Order and manage of Controlled drugs/Opioids/Narcotics according to the Dangerous Drugs Act.
  14. Maintain a register of all dangerous drugs and conduct a two person level count every day.
  15. Pharmacy storage areas are maintained at an appropriate temperature and are always clean and properly organised.
  16. Ensure that universal infection control precautions are maintained throughout the pharmacy and stock room.
  17. Publish educational information for other pharmacists, doctors, nurses and/or patients.
  18. Assist with appropriate pharmaceutical treatments/ medications for patients requiring emergency medical evacuation services.
  19. Will be a member of the disaster management group supporting the clinic in the event of a mass casualty incident.
  20. Will help manage the essential drug list and other pharmaceutical advice where necessary
  21. Coordinate activities of the drugs and therapeutics
  22. Ensure compliance for other duties and responsibilities as may be required from the Chief Medical Officer and/or hospital/clinic manager from time to time within your scope of practice.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Superintendent – Taxation, you will assist the Taxation Superintendent in ensuring that Barrick Lumwana group of Companies comply with their tax and commercial obligations and to provide high quality tax and commercial input to the groups affairs.

Responsibilities
