Key Responsibilities:

  •  Support compliance with all statutory, FQM Sentinel standards and procedures, through development of equipment strategic operation.
  • Ensure risks are identified and managed and a safe working environment is maintained.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with all statutory obligations.
  • Ensure all registered equipment operating in the mine is fully complaint with statutory regulations
  • Ensure all operating plant is maintained in a safe condition.
  • Ensure all statutory inspections are included in the area yearly plans and overseas and develop the maintenance information system to ensure that data collection and validation supports operating and report requirement.
  • Ensure statutory inspections are completed according to schedule.
  • Providing reliability and engineering support for RNO electrical department to improve electrical equipment availability in order to achieve the strategic plans and objectives of the business.
  • Developing and coordinating plant condition monitoring and inspection programs, making full use of available advances in Risk Based Integrity management systems and standards.
  • Providing Engineering support to electrical department.
  • Initiate failure analysis and support to the electrical department
  • Approve SWI’s and make sure it complies with Zambian Statutory regulations.
  • To keep all electrical drawings updated.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent field experience in mine site maintenance and project management.

Experience & Skills:

  • Experience in the use of a recognized CMMS
  • Must be computer literate i.e Ms Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Must have good communication skills in English language with an emphasis on writing skills
  • At least 5 years maintenance engineering experience in the mining /mineral processing industry
  • Relevant field experience in mine site maintenance and project manangement

  • Able to set direction and a self- starter
  • Able to work semi- autonomously
  • Results driven and pays attention to detail
  • Engages others and develops team to strive towards strategics goals

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the repair and Optimisation of the Mine’s Private Radio Network.
  • Ensure timely management of all radio repeater stations on site – as well as installation, programming and repairing of all user equipment on site.
  • Conduct repairs of the Mine’s Pit Rajant Mesh Network .
  • Ensure that all Repair and Installation of WENCO fleet management system on all Mining Hauling Machines are done on time.
  • Installation and repair of Driver Safety System (DSS) on all Mining hauling machines.
  • Repair of Avigilon CCTV systems around the Mine Site.
  • In charge of repair and installation of Brigade systems on all Mining haul trucks.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a grade twelve (Grade 12) School Certificate
  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Engineering/ Computer Science or Equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in communication systems
  • Valid driver’s Licence
  • Exposure to DSSI / Brigade / Rajant / Mesh network will be an added advantage.

Key Reponsibilities:

  • Assist planning in all emerging work including parts.
  • Execution of the daily planing activities within area of appointment.
  • Alternate planner in the absence of the area planner.
  • Compliance to the work Management process in respect to planning and scheduling work orders withing the required timeframe.
  • Provide relevant and good quality attachments for the work packs to the team members which may include but not limited to JHA’s, SOP’s, SWI’s etc. This includes the updating of any of these documents to ensure they are kept relevant and reflect “best practice”.
  • Management of the backlogs within the allowable standard.
  • Open and closing Work Orders in the timeframe allowed.
  • Ensure all necessary parts, equipment, services and documentation to perform the maintenance work are readily available at time of use.
  • Facilitate the development of applicable maintenance routines in line with Maintenance Plan Review/OEM recommendations that promote quality reliable maintenance work.
  • Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of the equipment maintenance history and CMMS database.
  • Assist Area Planner in the preparation of planned jobs to put in the plan.
  • Any other tasks as may be delegated upon by the supervisor.

Experience and Skill:

  • Must be familiar with work practices
  • Minimum 4 years of maintenance experience on mobile machinery environment or acceptable equivalent surface mining or underground.
  • Must have worked with recognised CMMS ( Computerised Maintenance Management System, pronto will be added advantage.
  • Able to read understand and reference maintenance manuels.
  • Prior planning experience will be highly regarded.

Qualifications:

  • Must have grade 12 Certificate.
  • Must have EIZ Membership.
  • Heavy Equipment Repair/Automotive Technician or Technologist.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications e.g Excel, word,Microft Project ans PowerPoint.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and having driving experience for 12 months.

The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;

  • Changing Tyres on all size mine equipment including tyre sizes up to 59/80R63.
  • Rim maintenance on all mine equipment.
  • Tyre chain maintenance including changing chains, tensioning chains and repairing of tyre chains.
  • Daily tyre pressure checks and inspections on all mining equipment.
  • Recording all tyre information on tyre change outs and tyre pressure/inspection checks.
  • Carry out administrative functions as identified by Supervisor
  • Identify worn and faulty components and report.
  • Contribute to good housekeeping routines.
  • Understand and adhere to company’s policies and procedures.

Experience & skill:

  • Must be familiar with safe working practices.

Lubambe Copper Mine Jobs in Zambia : Mining Trainer

Lubambe Copper Mine is located within the Greater Konkola Area of the Zambian Copperbelt and consists of a large – scale mining license covering an area of approximately 240 square kilometres. The mine is a modern, world class facility with fully mechanized underground operations.

Lubambe Copper Mine is owned by EMR Capital of Australia (80%) and ZCCM – Investments Holdings (20%).

The Mine is currently in a ramp up stage and will ultimately produce 45, 000 tonnes of contained copper and will employ approximately 1,500 people. The Plant infrastructure consists of a Concentrator plant, a laboratory and underground infrastructure. The Concentrator incorporates crushing, milling, flotation and filtration. The design capacity is 2.5 MTPA of ore at an average mill grade of 2.3% copper, yielding 45,000 tonnes of contained copper in concentrate to be sold to smelters in Zambia.

Lubambe Copper Mine seeks to employ experienced and qualified individuals in the following position:

MINING TRAINER

This position reports to the Underground Manager.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To operate with the Shift Supervisors in the various shifts and guide them on planning, organize, lead and control operations in the areas of responsibility. The trainer should be able to do a gap analysis of the Supervisors and design a training program to address the shortcoming in them.

Key Performance Areas/Indicators (KPA/Is):

  • Provide a gap analysis for Supervisors.
  • Design a development program for the Supervisors.
  • Train the Shift Bosses on planning, organisation, leading and controlling.
  • Educate the Shift Bosses on productivities.
  • Provide guidance to the supervisors to drive performance from the workers.
  • Ensure that targets in production, stope-drilling and development are met.
  • Work with Senior Managers, other Specialists and their Frontline Supervisors to control the mine operations
  • Oversee and advise on short- and medium-term planning for the clear understanding of the Supervisors.
  • Ensure that maintenance and other services within Supervisors control are of the correct standard to provide the same on time.
  • Assist and train supervisors to maintain and control operating costs in order to be within budgetary limits.
  • Adhere to statutory and domestic regulations, in particular, those relating to safe working practices in order to minimize injury to personnel and damage to Company property.
  • Ensure proper utilisation of the labour force which should be of the right composition and appropriate skills so as to meet operating and production targets.
  • Maintain good industrial relations and high morale conducive to high productivity.

Professional and Academic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent from a reputable institution with 10 years’ experience at lower levels and a further 5 years’ experience on the job to attain a fully acceptable level of performance.
  • Thorough knowledge in mining operations and should be very conversant with
  • Managerial/supervisory skills, excellent written communication skills and high conceptual/analytical skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and make appropriate decisions, considering all relevant factors.
  • Should possess good mining ethics including the ability to work and cooperate with other miners and technical staff/contractors.
  • Should work within the scope of delegated authority and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Computer literacy, proficient in the use of Excel and Word.
  • Participate in ongoing training & development of employees and recommend those with potential for further development.
  • Should have material and labour control experience and observe the Company’s Code of Conduct for employees and contribute to the attainment of set Company objectives.
  • He should be self-disciplined, self-motivated and should possess a high level of integrity.
  • Demonstrate and promote respect for the diverse cultures at the workplace.
  • Be in possession of a clean and valid drivers’ license.
