Marie Stopes Zambia (MSZ) is a results-orientated Social Business, which uses modern management and marketing techniques to provide sexual and reproductive health services, as well as general women’s and men’s health services. Marie Stopes Zambia’s goal is to meet the needs of underserved Zambians and dramatically improve access and use of family planning and other reproductive health services.

MSZ subscribes to the Marie Stopes International goal and mission, which is to prevent unwanted births and to ensure the individual’s right to Children by Choice not Chance.


MSZ is seeking a Partnerships Officer to develop new and manage existing partnerships with corporate, NGO and public sector organisations, in order to increase income-generating referrals to MSZ’s clinic, and to generate in-office events, wherein MSZ can provide mobile services

Reporting to: The Family Health Centre Manager

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Business Development

  • Promotion the clinic health services through information and education programmes, cross-selling and other marketing/promotion activities
  • Manage and maintain relationships with existing partner organisations, and continue to increase referrals and events revenue
  • Reach out to new organisations customer leads through cold calling, meetings and presentations
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments

2. Corporate Partnership Management 

  • Deliver presentations and meetings with corporate partners on MSZ’s work
  • Negotiating the different service packages with corporate clients to suit their needs
  • Ensuring that each of the corporate clients is updated with changes in service packages and pricing
  • Billing corporate clients in collaboration with Centre lead and Finance Department
  • Facilitating customer satisfaction through consistent corporate client engagement

3. Competitor Landscaping

  • Analyse the territory/market’s potential, track sales and status reports
  • Write management reports on client/customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and advise on any potential for new products and services
  • Stay abreast with current best practices and promotional trends

4. Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Arranging for service statistics and evaluation of services through on-going data collection, research and evaluation
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Collecting data on prospective corporate clients and production of weekly and monthly reports of data base

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or equivalent
  • Understanding of issues surrounding sexual and reproductive healthcare services
  • Proven work experience as a sales representative, business to business experience is especially relevant
  • Experience building relationships with corporate, NGO and/or public sector organisations
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in meeting sales targets
  • Excellent sales, communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience working in a target driven, time pressured environment
  • Experience with public speaking, with the ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
  • Relationship management experience
  • MS Office skills
  • Excellent oral and written English
  • Must be pro-choice
