Curriculum Development Coordinator

Job Description Summary

The Curriculum Development Coordinator is primarily responsible for developing cutting edge curriculum resources that meet the highest academic standards in University education and online learning. This position will be responsible for developing new curriculum references and as well as a refreshing current curriculum in a timely manner. The Curriculum Development Coordinator will work under the Deputy Vice-Chancellor to deliver curriculum resources such as student guides, reference materials, and always utilize current research to keep content up to date.

Required Skills:

  • Master in any education-related field and teaching methodology a must.
  • PhD will an added advantage.
  • Training or professional experience in content design, written content development, graphic layouts and technical writing
  • Background in education, health and wellness, nutrition, holistic or functional medicine, and the sciences; with a preference for the HPCZ and HEA certification
  • High-level proficiency in writing, content development or technical writing in an adult education setting
  • Understanding of University learning methodologies and best practices
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines with accuracy and quality
  • Ability to collaborate with team members to curate content in a meaningful way
  • Understanding of academic resource gathering and proper resource citation
  • Willingness to participate in a team and mobilize for success; a collaborative approach should be innate
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner but also accept oversight when appropriate
  • Proven track record in building relationships with peers, staff, and supervisors
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Office software, Adobe Suite, Pages and other creative development tools

Duties and essential functions:

Curriculum Development

  • Utilize research provided by content experts to design curriculum resources such as student guides, reference materials and assignments that exceed quality and brand standards
  • Ensure that all content provides a cohesive student learning experience as directed by the Curriculum Development Manager
  • Comprehensively update curriculum with the newest material per the curriculum development calendar
  • Ensure the curriculum meets or exceeds adult and online learning standards such as Quality Matters
  • Draft updated versions of material when necessary
  • Curate new content from outside media channels that can complement the in-house/ instructor developed curriculum
  • Produce scripts for the Media Coordinator that align with student reference guides and the video content plans to produce video resources
  • Evaluate and keep up to date of any new training programs, online summits and other educational opportunities that are provided by competing schools or other providers and share best practices with the Academic team Learning

Management Support

  • Upload and manage versions of content in the learning management system online
  • Work with the Academic Director to address needs in the online learning system for students Instructor Support
  • Produce instructor training guides on new content
  • Compile feedback from instructors for regular content updates and improvements
  • Attend and present on instructor training sessions as needed Event Management
  • Develop resource materials for conferences and events as needed by the events team
