Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone Limited (LS MFEZ) was established by Government of the Republic of Zambia as a state owed enterprise under the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry with a mandate to develop, operate and manage Zambia’s only state-owned economic zone, the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone. The company is registered under the Companies Act and commenced operations in 2012.

We are seeking to recruit vibrant, goal-oriented, self-driven energetic individuals to fill following positions:

1. CIVIL ENGINEER

Job Purpose: To provide advice and expertise to managers and staff on all civil engineering aspects of the company’s operations

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN DUTIES)

TECHNICAL ADVICE: Advise on construction methods, materials, quality and safety standards to ensure that plant and equipment, working methods and processes comply with design specifications and identified

SITE VISITS AND INSPECTIONS: Carry out any required site visits and inspections to determine the civil engineering aspect of planned works

FESIBILITY STUDY: Conduct feasibility studies for major and minor works and recommend new projects or extension of the existing ones

MONITOR PROJECTS: Direct and control civil engineering projects to ensure that they are completed to required standard within the agreed time frame and within the agreed budget level

RESEARCH: Carry out and commission research and advise on soil mechanics, hydraulics, water and waste water treatment processes and other related engineering matters to ensure that decisions are made on the basis of the best possible information

WATER DESIGN: Design water-based and hydraulic systems and structures to meet project specifications

REPORTS: Preparation of reports on all civil engineering projects to ensure that decisions are based on the best possible information

POLICIES: Coordinates the implementation of technical policies and programmes of the LS-MFEZ.

EDUCATION / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

(i) Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering
(ii) Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
(iii) 5 years in civil work and water reticulation systems

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS

(i) Good business sense
(ii) In- depth understanding of Engineering principles
(iii) Experience in supervising teams in a technical environment
(iv) An ability to solve technical Environment
(v) Project Management skills
(vi) Plenty of initiative

2. SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR

JOB PURPOSE To direct and control the internal audit function, ensuring that all financial standards, regulations and statutory provisions are complied with   and that there is the appropriate financial control to ensure the efficient, effective and proper use of resources.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN DUTIES)

SUPERVISION: Direct and control all internal audits staff ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards

ANNUAL AUDIT PLAN: Develop and implement an annual audit plan to ensure that Company complies with financial and statutory regulations and standards

INTERNAL CONTROLS: Design and execute effective control tests and analytical procedures with limited management supervision and develop risk and control matrices to evaluate designs of key internal controls

REPORTING: Present audit reports to the Audit and Risk committee to identify areas requiring attention and ensure implementation of any action agreed

RECOMMENDATIONS: Independently identify meaningful control gaps and develop recommendations that promote continuous improvement in risk management capabilities and the internal control environment and develop all necessary internal controls to ensure that financial systems operate effectively

EXTERNAL AUDITOR: Liaise with external auditors to ensure that they have all information they might require
IMPLEMENTATION: Document work performed a structured manner and contribute to the ongoing improvements in Internal Audit methodology
POLICIES: Coordinates the implementation of technical policies and programmes of the LS-MFEZ.

EDUCATION / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

(i) Bachelor degree, preferably in finance, Full ACCA, Natech Professional Level

(ii) Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants

(ii) 5 years post -qualification experience of auditing and accountancy

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS

(i) Detailed knowledge of Financial and audit standards, regulations and requirements

(ii) Demonstrate proficiency in documenting process, risk and controls in narrative flowcharts and workpaper

(iii) Ability to consistently apply internal audit principles and practices and skilled in critically evaluating processes, risks, and controls

(iv) Positive attitude

(v) Negotiation skills

(vi) Plenty of initiative

3. PUBLIC RELATIONS & MARKETING OFFICER

Job Purpose; To coordinate marketing and promotions for the Company’s services and promote existing investment opportunities to maintain existing clients/ investors. and to market and bring in new business to ensure foreign and domestic investors are enticed and locate at the zone.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN DUTIES)

ACTION PLAN: To plan for the advertising, marketing and promotion of Company services to raise the companies Market profile and increase investor attraction and ensure all necessary approvals are obtained for all marketing campaigns and plans before they are implemented

PROMOTIONS: Conduct Promotional activities ensuring that they are carried out efficiently and within agreed budgets in order to raise the profile of the company and increase sales and Identify areas for improvement in service delivery, sales tactics, marketing strategy, and promotional activities

CLIENT RELATIONSHIP: Liaise with Stakeholders to promote success of company’s business and weigh in on important decisions involving advertising, media channels, and branding

RESEARCH: Research and analyses market trends, competitor offerings, demographics, and other information that may affect our affect marketing strategies and uses research findings and analysis to provide direction to the Manager Marketing and Business Development regarding upcoming marketing opportunities, and overall strategy

MEDIA COVERAGE: Ensure that external coverage of company’s work is well secured and use of newspapers, radio and TV and company’s topics and massages in the national news agenda is widely covered. Conduct public relations activities on behalf of the company in liaison with the office of the Managing Director. Be the front line offer for all media coverage and facilitate production of documentaries and all other related publications on behalf of the LS MFEZ

COODINATE EVENTS: Ensure that all company events are coordinated according to timeframes and the company fulfils its mandated function

POLICIES: Adheres to and implements all company policies and procedures

EDUCATION / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

(i) Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field

(ii) At least 3 years extensive Marketing and Public Relations experience

(iii) A member of the Zambia Institute of Marketing

(iv) A valid driving licenses
