About the Role
By 2025, the Zambia program plans to offer several species of trees to more than 360,000 smallholder farmers. This will include timber, fruit, and soil-improving species. In total, this agroforestry portfolio is projected to create $5,400,000 of farmer financial impact by 2025 through the planting of six million trees.
As the Agroforestry Coordinator, you will report to the Agroforestry Lead.
Responsibilities
You will lead the field execution of the agroforestry strategy as designed by the Agroforestry lead
You will run trials for multiple production/sourcing and distribution methods for tree seedlings, such as partnerships or setting up centralized nurseries.
You will set seasonal and weekly targets for the tree field team for trees adopted and planted including target setting
You will run surveys to determine farmer demand and impact potential for multiple agroforestry species.
You will provide training content to the tree field team to maximize farmer returns
You will run both quantitative and qualitative surveys to determine farmer demand, impact potential for multiple agroforestry species.
Lead People
You will be directly responsible for the recruitment and management of the tree field team

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:
A University degree in agroforestry or a related field.
At Least 2 years professional experience managing data-driven agriculture or agroforestry project.
Field management experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite/Workplace (MS excel / Google Sheets) required.
Ability to write and communicate in English a requirement
Preferred Start Date
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, start dates can vary significantly by role. We are adapting rapidly to Covid-19 and most of our team is now working remotely. Given the changing environment, we will appreciate your flexibility in confirming a start date.
