Kawambwa Rural Farmer Market and Financial Access Support Project Job Advertisement

Kawambwa Crop Bulking Company Limited (KCBC) is a subsidiary of Action Africa Help Zambia (AAHZ). The company is working in Kawambwa District to improve livelihoods of 975 rural farming households through enhanced access to financial services to support a sustained economic growth trajectory.

These farmers’ collectively produce 27,000 metric tons (MT) of common beans a year. This seemingly high production is far less than the potential they can produce. Constraining them is a lack of predictable markets and more notably, financial services.

KCBC is particularly working with beans farmers in Mushota, Kota, Musungu and Chimpili areas of Kawambwa. The company submits that access to financial services has potential to catalyze bean farming while spurring all other kinds of existing and new rural economic activity along with it.
KCBC is seeking to recruit a well qualified, experienced and innovative individual to fill the position of Business Development Manager tenable in Kawambwa District of Luapula Province:

1.0 Business Development Manager

Position Title: Business Development Manager
Position Type: Fixed Term Contract
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Kawambwa

1.1 Job Purpose:

To supervise and lead KCBC’s operations and employees in Kawambwa. Also to ensure that company business is run efficiently and profitably.

1.2 Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and identifying new opportunities for growth in current and prospective markets
  • Ensuring that company business is run efficiently and profitably
  • Evaluating subordinates to determine areas of improvement
  • Developing strategies and plans to meet the company goals
  • Managing company budget
  • Ensure all company activities adhere to corporate guidelines and policies.
  • Preparing adhoc and regular monthly reports to top management

1.3 Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, or other related fields
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a management position
  • Outstanding leadership abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the latest business policies and regulations
  • Demonstrable analytical thinking and business insight

1.4 Skills and Attributes Needed

  • Good knowledge about the business management
  • Good knowledge of commodity trade business
  • Good knowledge of Project management
  • Team worker
  • Excellent communication skills
