Area Sales Manager

Position Description

This position reports to the National Sales Manager. We are seeking to hire dynamic Area Sales Managers who will be responsible for developing and supervising their sales teams in Kitwe, Lusaka and Kabwe. You will be responsible for developing business plans, meeting planned sales targets, and coordinating with our marketing department to ensure synergy. You will also be tasked with overseeing the activities and performance of your depot and sales teams and will facilitate the ongoing training of your salespeople.


  • Overseeing the depot and leading the sales team.
  • Setting depot sales targets and managing the sales team to meet company sales target by ensuring optimal plans are in place and contribute to the development of distribution strategies that will ensure market penetration.
  • To identify, plan and execute training for your sales team to impart necessary skills
  • To plan, budget, monitor and control the depot budget
  • To generate timely and accurate sales reports for analysis and decision making
  • To establish and maintain beneficial business relationships with customers
  • To supply market intelligence, identify and recommend ways for the company to keep abreast with current market requirements
  • Conduct regular field visits to assess sales opportunities
  • Assign sales territories and establish training programs for the sales team.
  • Review sales target and performance of the team on a weekly basis.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience developing a successful sales team in a leading FMCG company
  • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
