Each Project Officer is expected to implement a results based participatory advocacy project performing all project management functions and she / he will work under the direct supervision of the Executive Director and will be responsible for the following major duties:

  1. Initiation: Study the project’s agreement clearly identifying its initial defined scope and stakeholders, identifying linkages of the project to ZCEA programmes and aligned strategic objectives of the Association.
  2. Planning: Using the respective project’s document especially the results framework, develop and document project plans (DIP), project deliverables (MEALs), requirements and schedule.
  3. Execution: Implement the project utilising all schedules, procedures and templates ensuring to bring about the expected results while prudently applying allocated resources.
  4. Monitoring and control: Ensure agreed and approved project is within scope, on time and within budget with minimum risks.
  5. Closing: Documentation, stakeholder information dissemination, handing over deliverables and or equipment, identifying and recommending to management strategies for strengthening the sustainability of the projects’ results.

Required Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum qualification: Bachelor Degree in any social sciences.
  • Knowledge and skills in applying advocacy strategies, stakeholder mobilisation and engagement is essential
  • A minimum of three (3) years relevant experience and proven track record in (operational) RBM/ of non-governmental organisations, preferably of NGOs involved in advocacy work.
  • Specialised/ Further education in Result-Based Management is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrable excellent analytical and writing skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to dynamic changes and fast-paced work environment.
  • Understanding of the child rights framework would be an added advantage.
  • Valid, more than 2 years experience, driver’s license an added advantage.
