Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To ensure service and repairs are carried out to the highest standards of quality possible to ensure customer satisfaction
  • To control and supervise staff in the use of equipment and tools
  • Assist Aftersales Staff with Technical Issues
  • Assist and advise Technicians with repairs
  • Ordering and Maintaining stock holdings as required
  • Other duties as instructed by Senior Management

Daily tasks, but not limited to:

  • Receive Job Cards/ Repair orders from Service Advisers
  • Enter all job cards onto Work Shop control register in sequence
  • Allocate jobs to Technicians according to skills
  • Prioritize urgent jobs and follow up
  • Follow up Work in Progress (W.I.P) regularly
  • Read all job cards check and plan out work, check for parts availability and if necessary, order parts timorously to avoid returns
  • To test all vehicles (100% vehicles) as and when completed
  • Check that all job cards are clocked by Technicians, description of repairs carried out corresponds to job cards. request, control certificates to be correctly filled out, additional repairs required noted in control certificate, signed by Technician
  • Return work documented daily and addressed
  • Sign each job card after testing
  • Ensure each job card is costed daily
  • Follow up Work in Progress (W.I.P) and carry overs, parts and back orders
  • Keep Senior Management informed of any issues
  • Keep Service Advisers informed of progress or delays of W.I.P
  • Maintain Work shop equipment and special jobs
  • Ensure all Diagnostic Machinery and tools are fully functioning and maintained as per Hyundai specifications


  • Improved profitability
  • Ensure maximum effective use of equipment and labour ensuring high productivity output
  • To ensure all chargeable materials are recorded on job cards for invoicing purposes
  • Endure a minimum of 90% productivity is reached by technicians
  • Ensure a minimum overall workshop productivity target of 90% is reached

Customer service and satisfaction

  • To ensure a customer satisfying level of service and repair quality
  • To ensure vehicle cleanliness is maintained during service and repair
  • To follow and carry out instructions from the General Manager.


  • Ensure all materials and parts drawn from the parts department are accounted for
  • To ensure all warranty work, documentation and returnable components are accounted for
  • Ensure Company property is not removed by staff from the premises
  • Ensure company information is safely stored and retained within the company and not removed off site


  • To promote workshop staff on routine matters particularly the Health and safety
  • To ensure jobs are fairly and correctly allocated to technicians and mechanics
  • To ensure all job sheets are correctly written up and forwarded for pricing


  • To ensure efficient progress of jobs through the workshop
  • To ensure health and safety procedures are observed and maintained at all times
  • To circulate new and up to date manuals and literature for new vehicles and techniques

Health and safety

  • To ensure safe and reliable use of maintenance of equipment
  • To ensure staff take all precautions necessary relating to health and safety in the workshop
  • To ensure customers are protected from any possible dangers or hazards by not entering into the workshop area

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Mechanical or Automobile Engineer / Diploma Holder
  • Must have previous Workshop Management Experience
  • Must have Parts control experience
  • Hands on Experience
  • Must have both Passenger and Commercial vehicle experience
  • Must be IT literate and adaptable to the Hyundai Online ordering requirements
  • Previous Team Supervisory skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Communication Skills
  • Must have ‘’can do’’ Attitude
