Job Purpose

The Head of Marketing will handle marketing activities from social media and digital campaigns to advertising and creative projects and will also be responsible to lead the marketing team, developing plans to help establish brand visibility. Translate brand strategies into brand plans, brand positioning and go-to-market strategies. Manage all digital marketing activities, work closely with Sales and Marketing HODs to identify opportunities for campaigns that will lead to an increase in sales.

Summary of Key Responsibilities;

  • Analyzing how our brand is positioned in the market and crystalize targeted consumer’s insights
  • Build marketing plans and budgets for the smooth operation of marketing campaigns.
  • Prepare social media marketing campaigns and strategize them such that they align with the business objectives
  • Translate brand strategies into brand plans, brand positioning and go-to-market strategies
  • Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors’ activities to identify opportunities and key issues
  • Create and monitor an advertisement on various platform keeping the business vision aligned.
  • Monitor the team goals and their execution keenly.
  • Ensure that the website, promotional material, marketing campaign strategy are updated on a regular basis.
  • Prepare monthly marketing budget.
  • Take brand ownership and provide the vision, mission, goals and strategies
  • Create monthly reports for the marketing department.
  • Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share
  • Research about the latest marketing strategies and excel in marketing endeavors competitively
  • Design branding, positioning and pricing strategies
  • Ensure brand message is strong and consistent across all channels and marketing efforts (like events, email campaigns, web pages and promotional material).
  • Analyze consumer behavior and determine customer personas
  • Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share
  • Monitor competition (acquisitions, pricing changes and new products and features)
  • Coordinate sales and marketing efforts to boost brand awareness
  • Participate in the quarterly and annual planning of company objectives at management level

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Marketing or any other Business related discipline
  • Must have a minimum of 8-10 years’ work experience as head of Marketing, Senior Marketing Manager or related
  • Proven experience in identifying target audiences and devising campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Experienced in writing speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Proven ability to develop brand and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
  • Must be up-to-date with the latest trends and marketing best practices
  • Driver’s license for manual and automatic transmission vehicles
    Member of the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM)
