BAKERY TRAINEE MANAGER

Job Purpose

The Trainee Bakery Manager will work under the direction of the General Manager to supervise baking staff and ensure that all bakery operations run smoothly. Take inventory of baking supplies, resolve customer complaints, and address poor staff performance. Maintaining accurate financial records, conducting interviews, hiring suitable bakery staff, and ensuring that orders for specialty
Confectionary products are completed on time.

Summary of Key Responsibilities;

  • Ensuring that the bakery is adequately stocked with quality baking ingredients and supplies.
  • Ensuring that baking tools, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Developing and implementing advertising and marketing strategies to attract new customers.
  • Creating suitable work schedules for staff members.
  • Appraising staff performance and carrying out the necessary disciplinary measures to address poor performance.
  • Follow all inventory control procedures to maximize product freshness, quality, turnover, and
    availability for maximum sales. They will assist customers and will properly merchandise
    products in display cases and price correctly according to company standards
  • In Consultation with the GM facilitate training staff to produce high-quality bakery items while following proper food handling procedures.
  • Strategically arranging bakery items in display cases to encourage customer purchases.
  • Inspecting bakery items to ensure that established standards on quality, uniformity, and
    aesthetic appeal are met.
  • Resolving customer complaints in a professional manner.
  • Discard stale or spoiled bakery items and markdown goods nearing their expiration dates.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Full Grade Twelve Certificate
  • Degree in Business and any Commercial or Operations
  • 2+ years Proven experience in operations
  • A minimum of 1-year experience in bakery department operations will be advantageous.

  • Excellent management skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills
