To reconcile internal accounts in accordance with Absa Africa procedures. This is expected to improve the risk profile for Zambia
-To provide accurate information to Management so that decisions can be made
– Reconcile Internal accounts and insure these are managed effectively

Job Description

Control  reviews

                                                                                                                                          

  • Scrutinize the reports to ensure there are no unusual items
  • Scrutinize the report to ensure you observe the large amounts that must be dealt with immediately.
  • Identify the items that can easily be matched and prepare mark-ups using I-REC system
  • Investigate items that can not be matched by obtaining information from branches/HO departments that originated entries,FOS journal, Transaction Journal,A009,Interest,S/O,Maintenance,Service fees reports(or any other useful reports)
  • Escalate exceptional items that can not be resolved to account owners and the Finance Director in accordance with the business rules
  • Chase exceptional items and keep records
  • Return records records as per procedure manual
  • Drive performance for the achievement of the team targets
  • Balancing of items on brains to ensure they balance with items on smart stream
  • Manage reconciliation team effectively
  • Action any complaints received in accordance with laid down procedures
  • Escalate issues relating to risk and service in a timely and effective manner to level appropriate to the circumstances
  • Manage non-Recs accounts-by actioning UN07 and account Owners Comments
  • Manage non-recs accounts by consolidating aged analysis
  • Provide escalations to account owners and the Finance Director
  • Provide suitable MI for non Recs accounts
  • Undertake required reconciliation process on activity daily  basis in accordance with set procedures

Expense tracking

  • Responsible for the strict cost management by conducting detailed analysis , on a monthly basis , of the following cost elements :
    • Effectively manage the team’s expenses
    • Overtime
    • Stationery
    • Travel
    • Lunch/dinner

Risk & Control

  • Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Absa Operational Risk Framework and internal Policies and Standards

Education

Higher Certificates and Advanced National (Vocational) Certificates: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
