Job Purpose
The primary objectives of the position shall be to grow the current adoption of the Pay product across Zambia. This includes being responsible for the various operational, business and technical aspects of the business resulting in the adoption of the Pay product. The Business Lead will also plan and coordinate all business activities including managing and driving the various teams, ensuring thorough service delivery functions are managed adequately to improve customer experience. The Business Lead will further be responsible to coordinate the technical functions in product enhancements

Summary of Key Responsibilities;

  • Lead the go-to-market strategy and business operations to ensure increased adoption and scale of the Pay platform
  • Develop and deploy adequate strategies to increase transactional volume on the Pay platform
  • Oversee and coordinate the various business functions including the Consumer, Merchant and Operations teams in delivering a collaborative approach towards the market.
  • Ensure results as per defined KPI’s are driven from each business function particularly, Merchant Acquiring, Consumer Relations and Operations.
  • Work with the technology teams in product enhancements and user experience improvements.
  • Plan, coordinate and engage various leading marketing engagements to support the business growth.
  • Manage engagements with the various members of the platform echo-system including banks, mobile money operators, merchants and consumers.
  • Support the acquisition of merchants through engagement with the merchant sales team and ensure adequate KYC and onboarding risk assessments are conducted.
  • Support consumer acquisition for the use of the Pay App through the consumer sales teams through execution of planned campaigns and consumer marketing strategies.
  • Provide insights to management and the Board on strategies and best practices relating to platform and product features/functions from time to time.
  • Work closely with third parties including possible marketing partners, media, government and other stakeholders with the objective of driving brand value, use-cases and overall adoption
  • Provide quality assurance checks with client communication, feedback and ensure performance to client expectations are met.
  • Contribute to the team through the recruitment

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Business Management or Masters in Business Administration
  • Must have a minimum of 4+ Years in the Fintech Industry
  • Minimum of 7-10 years working experience with at least 4+ years in a management position
  • Must have a detailed understanding of technology and its role in the digital payments, space relating to acquirers, issuers and detailed knowledge of financial instrument settlements
  • Must have had experience in consumer financial products
  • Must be a member of a relevant professional body
