Our client in the insurance industry in Zambia seeks to recruit qualified and experienced professional as an Actuarial Analyst who will be using statistical modeling to analyze data relating to mortality, expenses, investments, product profitability and so on.

Reporting To: Chief Financial Officer
Interacts With: Management, clients and Workmates

JOB DESCRIPTION

Supporting SPA Actuarial in carrying out semi-annual embedded value analysis that feed into the overall Valuation processes of the company
Responsible for monthly actuarial reserving and performance metric calculations such as the value of new business.
Supporting SPA Product Development in pricing across both the Individual Life and Corporate business schemes in accordance with the business’ product development roadmap
Supporting the CFO in financial budgeting to consolidate new business inputs from the various business lines that feed into the modelling of a consolidated income statement for the business
Conducting semi-annual experience investigations for assumption setting for Valuation purposes
Supporting the CFO in driving the investment management mandate for the company to optimise returns for both policyholder and shareholder funds
Provide Risk management and operational support where necessary
Effective business operational and finance project management tracking
Financial modelling for scenario analysis that feeds into solvency testing and strategic analysis
Provide Technical support to re-insurance partners
Any other duties as assigned

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION

Experience: 3 years plus
Education Level: Degree
Qualifications: Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics.
Software: Microsoft Office Applications.
Equipment: Job Related
Knowledge Of: Programming knowledge and knowledge of software such as MySQL, Python and R
Skills To: Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability To: Adapt to working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
Other Requirements: Flexibility in resolving issues and addressing changing priorities
