Allterrain Services Group-Zambia, Africa’s leading facilities service provider is looking for dynamic and self-motivated Zambian with proven performance to fill the existing vacant position at our Kitwe project in Zambia as listed below;

MAINTENACE SUPERVISOR – KITWE

PURPOSE: The ATS Maintenance Supervisor will have the authority and be responsible and accountable for the Maintenance Team they are managing.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Must have a minimum of a high school education or equivalent with technical training in the areas of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and other related fields Formal training may be considered as substitution for experience requirements with a minimum of two years’ work experience in commercial/domestic or industrial settings or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform job duties may be considered
  • Previous experience supervising employees, including directing work, evaluating performance and coaching for improvement is also desirable but not required. Experience troubleshooting and correcting electrical or mechanical problems, maintaining inventory levels.
  • Creative visionary and able to be innovative
  • Creative, self-motivated, proactive and confident
  • Experience working with a diverse team

RESPONSIBILITIES

The specific duties of the Maintenance Supervisor will be as set out below but not limited to:

  • Organize: This duty is to ensure that each day maintenance work runs to schedule and to a plan.
  • Prioritize: The role must make decisions on allocation of resources in situations of constraint.
  • Lead: This responsibility is a leadership position.
  • Set Standards: The supervisor is the keeper of work quality standards.
  • Coordinate: The duty of coordination is to ensure everyone doing a maintenance job, or affected by maintenance work, knows exactly what is going on before and after it happens.
  • Supervise: This means knowing exactly what is going on in good detail with every job at all times.
  • Monitor Progress: This means keeping an indicator of work progress against the plan.
  • Report / Inform: The supervisor keeps management fully informed of the workforce performance and the issues the workforce is confronting.
  • Preparation Readiness: A supervisor responsible for getting maintenance work completed on time, on budget and safely will work closely with people planning jobs in order to know what future work is to be done.
  • Mentor: A supervisor works through people to get those tasks done that achieve the business aims.
  • Loyal to the Business: The duty a supervisor fulfils is to do what the organization requires and this obligates the supervisory role to put the well-being of the business first.
  • Manage Risk: This responsibility is far more than ensuring that all maintenance work is performed safely and to plan.
  • Maintenance Health & Safety – the Maintenance Supervisor will ensure that his team conforms to the ATS and clients Health & Safety & Environmental Policies.
  • Train and Educate: The supervisor and their people embrace continual education in new and better ways that make the maintenance group more efficient and effective.
  • Business Acumen: A person doing a supervisory role fulfils a management function and takes on the obligations of management.
  • Financial Responsibility: Understanding financial reports is a requirement of a supervisory role.
  • The Maintenance Supervisor will ensure that all expenses have correspondingly signed valid receipts and supporting paperwork, including any necessary valid Tax/VAT receipts for the expenses made.
  • Technically Able: The supervisor must know and understand the technical, engineering and quality requirements of the operating processes and the plant and equipment used in the process.
  • Continual Improvement: A supervisor champions business process improvement and is always looking for simpler, smarter and more effective ways to do the work undertaken by the maintenance crew.
  • Ethical Behavior: Impeccable ethical behavior and judgment is what must be shown in all situations.
