Nanga Farms Ltd is a large irrigated Sugarcane Estate situated 25km North East of Mazabuka in the Southern Province of Zambia. The Company is part of the Illovo Sugar Africa Group and its main activities are the cultivation of 2,860 hectares of sugarcane and the rearing of 1 ,400 head of cattle. The Company employs approximately 1,100 employees at peak season. The company now invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following positions:

AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC

Reporting to the Workshop Foreman, the main purpose of the job is to carry out vehicle and farm equipment maintenance works and repairs, record on equipment fitness and other workshop tasks.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure that all farm tractors, Graders, loaders and TLB are serviced and maintained to the required standards
• Ensure that all LDV’S, light trucks are Serviced and maintained to required standards
• Carry out Repairs on all farm machinery i.e. tractors, Graders, TLB’S, Gensets, motorized Water pumps, Motor bikes and motorized lawn mowers
• Carry out Repairs and maintenance on all farm implements i.e. Ridgers, Disc Arrows, Rippers, Tinto trailers, Perry loaders, water bowsers, Tipper trailers and fertiliser spreaders
• Follow SHEQ work procedures and work instructions when carrying out your duties
• And any other duties that maybe assigned to you.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Full Grade 12 Certificate.
• A minimum of Craft Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Mechanics/ Agriculture Mechanics.
• Minimum of three years post qualifying experience in a similar position.
• Good interpersonal and technical skills, personal organization as well as high level of integrity are required.
• Should be 30 years and above, physically fit.
