Copper Rose Zambia (CRZ) is the largest youth-led organization working towards the empowerment of youth and women in Zambia. About the Project

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) ± Controlling HIV Epidemic for Key and Underserved Population (CHEKUP 1) Project is a follow-on to the USAID Zambia Community HIV Prevention Project (Z-CHPP), which was being implemented by Pact Inc., and the USAID Open Doors Project (OPD), implemented by FHI360.

The USAID CHEKUP 1 Project is led by CIDRZ and implemented in partnership with the Young Women Christian Association of Zambia (YWCA), Tackle Africa, Pact Inc., D-tree, Key Populations Civil Society Organizations (KP-CSOs) and Copper Rose Zambia. The project which is running for five (5) years is being funded by USAID and implemented in Lusaka, Ndola, Kitwe, Chingola, Luanshya, Mufulira, Chililabombwe, Solwezi, and Livingstone districts. Out these Districts Copper Rose Zambia is leading activity implementation in 5 Districts namely: Lusaka, Kitwe, Chingola, Mufulira and Luanshya

The goal of this project is to improve the health outcomes of Zambians by preventing new HIV infections among priority and key populations most at risk of acquiring HIV, namely adolescent girls and young women, adolescent boys and young men, people living with HIV, mobile populations, discordant couples, and key populations.

 Position Overview

Location: Lusaka (6) Kitwe (4) Mufulira (4) Luanshya (3) Chingola (3)

Reports to: District Coordinator

Main duties

  • Acts as the focal point person between the project and schools in terms of updates, activity implementation and any other commitments as assigned.
  • Monitors School Based Prevention Interventions and provides constructive feedback.
  • Monitors Coaching Boys into Men (CBIM) activities implemented in schools.
  • Conducts Escorted referrals from schools to DREAMS Centers and other service providers
  • Supports District coordinators in designing and implementation of targeted and evidence-based HIV prevention strategies and interventions in Schools.
  • Documents attendance of all SBPI activities accordingly by the use of standardized reporting tools
  • Provides overall support in the implementation of school-based HIV prevention activities.
  • Collaborate with DREAMS centers implementing Safe space sessions and other activities in schools
  • Builds and maintains relations with schools, communities, and stakeholders by providing non selective SBPI services.
  • Conducts Home visits for AGYW and ABYM based on need
  • Any other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • Certificate in social work, Psycho social counseling or health related field.
  • Local resident of Lusaka, Luanshya, Kitwe, Mufulira and Chingola.
  • Aged between 18 and 30.
  • Training and or working knowledge in HIV/AIDS prevention and working with Adolescents in schools.
  • Empathetic, devoted and respectful individual with good interpersonal communication and team building.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Fluency in the local language and English for day-to-day communication.
