Responsibilities

  • Develops Marketing communications Plans/GTMs;
  • Supports relevant marketing activities across the business;
  • Ensures Brand compliance;
  • Ensures a positive perception of the company and its brands through the development and effective implementation of communications in the public arena. Liaises with relevant functional units to ensure delivery of integrated and consistent campaigns;
  • Ensures the MTNZ Corporate Identity (CI) policies, processes and procedures are well disseminated amongst MTN departments to facilitate effective brand management;
  • Translates Brand Communications strategy and objectives into communication objectives;
  • Defines the objectives of any advertising campaign or promotion and submits them to the advertising agency;
  • Manages the day-to-day activities relating to advertising campaigns and external relations;
  • Develops clear and robust briefs to partner agencies to influence quality strategies and creative campaigns and media plans;
  • Contributes to the planning and implementation of exhibitions and sponsorships to ensure the appropriate representation of the MTN Operating Companies brand;
  • Coordinates communications projects with vendors and contractors for the development and production of branded promotional materials, web site production and other collateral;
  • Reviews and edits existing promotional materials for marketing effectiveness, cross-selling implications, and adherence to brand guidelines;
  • Coordinates and monitors content on MTNZ digital portals to ensure accuracy and conformance with communications strategy and standards;
  • Monitors Brand & Communications expenditure to maintain budgetary control;
  • Drives continuous improvements as an important element of service delivery.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate with 5 credits or better of which English and Mathematics are a must;
  • Commerce Related Degree;
  • Training in Project Management advantageous;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in marketing with 3 years’ experience in a management position in dynamic and fast-moving industries;
  • Budgeting skills;
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work in a busy, open plan environment;
  • Member of the Zambia Institute of Marketing.
