Job brief

We are looking for a passionate Sales & Marketing Officer intern to plan and oversee the organization’s Sales, Digital Marketing and Business Development activities between September – December, 2022. A successful candidate must have great enthusiasm for all things marketing, and great knowledge of digital marketing techniques, principles and use of technology to develop a business portfolio. The candidate will also be an excellent communicator and will have exposure in managing different marketing ventures, including supporting others to raise the brand of the organization. The incumbent should be agile, yet friendly and neatly-presented to join our team.

Based on performance and enthusiasm, the candidate may be employed on a full-time basis during or after the internship

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the team to develop and implement a marketing strategy for the organization
  • Design digital media campaigns aligned with business goals
  • Lead in creation of digital content (e.g. website, blogs, press releases and podcasts)
  • Manage end-to-end digital projects
  • Plan and execute all digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns
  • Design, build and maintain our social media presence
  • Develop and implement sales plans
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns
  • Organise and present ads for the promotion of products and capture potential clients
  • Research and innovate to boost business operations
  • Handle enquiries, leading to preparation of quotations and negotiating the best prices and other issues
  • Develop and manage an advertisement budget and negotiate with the ad agencies
  • Prepare monthly reports and share with the line manager
  • Monitor the impact of the marketing strategies adapted on the sales of the product and make necessary amendments in the strategies
  • Organize and attend marketing activities or events to raise brand awareness (include researching on trending stories)
  • Participate in business proposal writing and produce quality deliverables
  • Carry out other duties as per delegation and authority matrix

Requirements:

  • Proven competency in digital marketing (certified)
  • Graphic design skills
  • Proficiency in use of desktop publishing tools
  • Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, multimedia design (a must)
  • Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken)
  • Creativity and commercial awareness
  • Degree in Marketing from a reputable institution.
  • Valid driver’s license. Minimum of 2 years driving experience
  • Only open to Lusaka based candidates, and those willing to relocate at own costs

Attributes:

  • Knowledge of managing logistics/projects will be highly desirable
  • Well-groomed, professional appearance and sober character
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work shifts, on weekends, and on public holidays, as may be needed
  • Must be between 25 – 40 years of age
