PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Government of the Republic of Zambia has received a loan from the African Development Bank/African Development Fund/Nigeria Trust Fund to finance the Chiansi Smallholder Outgrower Support Project (COSP).
The Principal objectives of this project are to increase agricultural income and improve livelihoods of the smallholder farmers by increasing agricultural productivity, and market access.
The Project has three strategic components: Development of Climate Resilient infrastructure Social Services and Skills Development and institutional Support and Project Management. Each component has complementary actions defined under sub components for each implementing entity.
Appications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following positions under the COSP.
Position of Project Driver
Position: Project Driver
Period: Four (4) years (1 Year, Renewable. Performance Based Contract)
Nature of Job: Full time
Reporting: Project Coordinator
Objectives of the assignment
Under the overal supervision of the Project Coordinator’s Office
The driver will:
- Ensure the safety and security of Project vehicles
- Perform regular motor vehicle maintenance checks
- Maintain motor vehicle mileage records and record of service of vehicles
- Drive within and outside the project sites/areas as authorised
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and order
- Perform other related duties as required.

- Good organization and planning skills.
- Effective fime management skills
- Excelent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team
- Maintenance of confidentiality at all times.
- Communication: able to read and write.
Education, Training and Experience
- Minimum of a Grade 12 Certificate.
- Clean and valid Driver’s license.
- Being in possession of a competency certificate to drive GRZ vehicles added advantage.
- Training in Mechanics will be an added advantage.
- At least Flvo (O5) years working experience as a Driver in a reputable organization
- Experience of driving 4WD vehicles on paved and offroad conditions
- A qualification or experience in auto mechanics/motor vehicles repairs will be an added advantage
- Experience in managing a fleet of at least five (05) vehicles
