Mechanical Technician –Intern Pacific Cigarette Company

Description of Tasks

Checks that the machines are switched on and off daily to ensure adherence to set safety guidelines.
Checks that specifications are correct and displayed so ensure safe of operation of machines.
Cross checks materials used and do brand changing to ensure that material meet these standards
To ensures compliance with the production procedures in order to increase compliance to set guidelines
Identifies and rectifies the machine problems to ensure accident free working environment
Ensures that performance data sheets are completed.
Trains operatives on mechanical issues so that the machines are adequately operated in line with the set guidelines
Provides adequate feedback to the Site Manager on operational activities so that performance of the unit is monitored
Checks the Product Quality.
Ensures that all operatives adhere to safety requirements all the times
Carries out machine audit before maintenance and servicing
Checks the conditions of all the tools to ensure they meet specifications.
Modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.

1.2 Training

Trains operatives on mechanical issues so that the machines are adequately operated in line with the set guidelines
Provides adequate feedback to the Site Manager on operational activities so that performance of the unit is monitored
Checks the Product Quality.

1.3 Safety awareness and house keeping

Ensures that all operatives adhere to safety requirements all the times
Carries out machine audit before maintenance and servicing
Checks the conditions of all the tools to ensure they meet specifications.
1 Minimum Hiring Standards

§ Diploma in Mechanical Technology

§ 5Olevels or Grade12

§ Internally trained or worked for the cigarette or any other manufacturing company,

§ operating packaging equipment

1.2 Working Experience

§ Should have at least 2 years relevant working experience in a cigarette manufacturing facility
