EMERGING COOKING SOLUTIONS
Emerging Cooking Solutions (Zambia) Limited, trading as “SupaMoto”, is a Zambian/Swedish joint venture, introducing clean burning modern cook-stoves, renewable cooking fuel pellets made from waste biomass and solar home systems. Our locally produced pellets are cheaper than charcoal and the cooking solution performs similar to a gas stove. Our solar home systems have a built in Pay as You Go (PAYGO)-mechanism and almost all payments for our products are made through Mobile Money. Our company has over 100 staff with presence in Malawi and Mozambique and growing rapidly in the energy sector. The positive environmental, socio-economic, and macro-level impact of our solutions is immense. We truly have a solution for the dilemma of rapid deforestation and disproportionately high cooking fuel costs for low-income people.
Job Title: Data Analyst Intern – HQ

Location: Lusaka, Kalundu / Onsite
Terms: 3 Month Probation
Data Internship Responsibilities
- Conducting internal audits on transactions, inspecting financial status of customers comparing with partner platforms.
- Accountable for monitoring that any errors are corrected, or questions are answered by the appropriate internal groups
- Conduct user training,
- Review submitted data to detect accuracy problems and anomalies and help departments correct data: both current and historical.
- Ensure quality data on different levels (Application, Customer, User).
- Consult on data improvements.
- Working closely with all relevant departments to help with reports, briefs, commentary, and visual data.
- Creating and editing visual content including maps, charts, and graphs.
- Transforming data sets, quantitative and qualitative analysis into meaningful information.
- Improve the data collection process.
- Support maintenance and creation of risk geographical mapping to assist in the analysis of the portfolio.
- Partner with Information systems to ensure accuracy of data collection and identify areas of improvement in data management.
- Creating visualizations of data in Power Bi and or Tableau, Excel.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma / Degree in Data Science, IT / Related fields.
- Strong mathematical & numeracy skills.
- Good with Excel and Google Sheets.
- Intermediate understanding of databases such as SQL, POSTGRESQL and AWS.
- Understanding of reporting & data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau.
- Understanding of excel VB and website scripts such as XML, Javascript, JSON.
- Understanding of ETL framework.
- Excellent analytical skills – the ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Presentation skills – ability to write and speak clearly to easily communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand.
- Problem solving skills.
