Job Summary
To clean office premises, carry out errands, and render welfare and other support services for the smooth running of ChildFund operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

•            Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguarding Policy
•            Maintains cleanliness both inside and outside the office premises at all times.
•            Washes the floors and windows at the premises every day.
•            Ensures that washrooms are kept clean and well stocked with necessities (toilet paper, towels, spays etc) every day.
•            Cleans all offices, verandahs, empties and cleans dustbins and wastepaper baskets on daily basis and disposes rubbish in designated areas only.
•            Daily ensures that all office furniture and equipment are clean and well arranged.
•            Ensures availability of office cleaning materials at all times, reports replenishment and / or purchases kitchen utilities/materials/ requirements timely.
•            Maintains the kitchen area, cleans all surfaces, sink, cooker, refrigerator and other appliances before preparing tea.
•            Ensures that the kitchen store is well stocked with adequate cleaning materials and consumables at all times
•            Maintain adequate stocks of drinking water, ensuring that it is clean, boiled and water dispenser maintains constant supply of water.
•            Ensures that the kitchen stock/bin cards for all kitchen stores purchases are updated all the times.
•            Ensures that all requirements for tea/coffee making are available in the kitchen and pantry counter at all time.
•            Prepares and serves tea on time and in a clean environment.
•            Safeguards all utensils and kitchen equipment and report any loses and damages immediately to the supervisor.
•            Prepares and submits monthly requests and reports on kitchen supplies to facilitate requisitioning in time.
•            When assigned to handle or photocopies documents ensure they are not carelessly exposed.
•            Carry out photocopying and arrangement of documents whenever needs arise
•            Run errands between offices and departments as may be requested by the supervisor
•            Assist the receptionist to manage switch board and mails in her absences
•            Assists the administration unit to organize refreshments and food for meetings and workshops
•            Performs any other duties that may from time to time be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualification:

  • A minimum of Grade 12 certificate.
  • A Certificate in record keeping and customer care is essential.

Experience:

  • A minimum of Two (2) years hands on experience in a similar job.

  • Possess basic organization and planning skills.
  • Initiative to provide services in time.
