The Human Resource Officer is responsible to the Finance & Administration Manager.

Duties
- Working closely with departments in a consultancy role
- Promoting equality and diversity as a part of the culture of the organization
- Liaising with and counseling staff on any problems they may have either at work or personally
- Recruiting staff- this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, helping in shortlisting, interviews, selecting candidates, and conducting reference checks
- Providing assistance with writing job descriptions and ensuring accurate job descriptions are in place
- Advising on pay and other remuneration issues including promotion and benefits
- Undertaking regular salary reviews
- Maintaining employee records
- Interpreting and advising on employment law
- Dealing with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures
- Providing advice and recommendations on disciplinary actions
- Developing with line managers HR planning strategies that consider immediate and long-term staff requirements
- Planning and sometimes delivering, staff training sessions, workshops, and activities, including inductions for new staff
- Analyzing training needs and development opportunities in conjunction with departmental managers
- Overseeing employee services such as health and safety and social facilities
- Providing advice and assistance when conducting and reviewing staff performance evaluations with line managers
- Monitoring staff performance and daily attendance activities
- Monitoring scheduled absences such as holidays or travel and coordinating actions to ensure that staff absence has been adequately covered to ensure continuity of services
- Conducting interviews
- Any other duties as assigned by Finance & Administration Manager

Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Human Resource Management
- Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM)
