Job Brief

The Warehouse Officer will work in the warehouse where they will supervise the receipt, dispatching, and storage of equipment, tools and material. The Warehouse Officer will assist, support and organize warehouse staff, and other equipment as well as oversee security, sanitation, and administrative functions.

 

Responsibilities

The following constitute the main duties of the Warehouse Officer:

 

 

  • Complete warehouse administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain outstanding warehouse condition and visual merchandising standards.
  • Report on buying trends, customer needs, profits, etc.
  • Propose innovative ideas to increase market share.
  • Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with the company’s policies and vision.
  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
  • Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
  • Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
  • Managing, evaluating, and reporting on warehouse productivity.
  • Tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials.
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining suitable inventory levels.
  • Checking orders, bills, items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy.
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security.
  • Manage stock control and reconcile with the data storage system
  • Prepare annual budget.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and transport companies.
  • Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately, and appraise results.
  • Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report, etc).
  • Order new supplies in a timely manner.
  • Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience as a Warehouse Supervisor
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Business degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Advanced knowledge of PASTEL.
