Head Risk and Compliance

Job Purpose

The Head of Risk and Compliance will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for the development and delivery of an efficient and effective Compliance and Risk program across the organisation. The holder of this role is also responsible for working with Digital PayGo’s stakeholders to proactively, efficiently and continuously improve the control environment and develop programs to minimise risk including: compliance with all government regulations, internal controls such as audit and quality assurance; vendor management and contract review, legislative and regulatory liaison and records retention.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with all reglations and statutory requirements.

• Assessing and monitoring incident reports as well as enterprise risks and compliance with project management standards.

• Managing the implementation and testing of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery plans.

• Conducting tests on data processing systems.

• Managing IT Security and recommending security enhancement and purchases.

• Assessing internal controls and reviewing audit reports.

• Developing Risk and Compliance policies and procedures and ensuring adherence to the same.

• Providing feedback to staff regarding audit reports received from internal and external auditors.

• Ensuring closure of audit issues identified.

• Performing internal audits for all units.

• Managing all vendor and partner contracts.

• Providing Risk Awareness training to all staff

• Monitoring compliance with Digital PayGo’s Standard Approach to Project Management, procedures and standards.

• Creating, testing and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

• Ensuring that Digital PayGo’s processes and procedures are compliant with internal and external IT controls.

• Assessing compliance with financial regulations and controls by executing audit programs

• Assessing risks and internal controls by identifying areas of non-compliance; evaluating manual and automated financial processes; identifying process weaknesses and inefficiencies and operational issues.

• Providing reports to Digital PayGo’s Management and Board

• Any other duties as may be assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of a Degree in IT, Computer Sciences or related fields

• At least five (5) years experience in Security, Audit or Risk.

• Grade 12 Certificate with credit or above in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects.

• Certification in Risk, Security or Audit (e.g. CISA, CISM, CRISC) is desirable

• Prior experience working within FinTech or the Banking industry is an added advantage.

• Project management experience or certification.

• Experience and/or knowledge of agile project management.

• Solid knowledge of security and audit standards.
