HR Manager – (Microfinance) Brilliance Executive Management Consultancy

Job Purpose
The HR Manager will play a key role within the organization’s senior management structure working closely with all functions as well as with a number of senior internal and external stakeholders. Ensures all HR policies and practices remain up to date and in line with all Zambian laws, taxations and regulatory requirements. Build the Human Resources team capacity ensuring the HR function acts as a key business partner to all internal stakeholders and one that lives the values of the company at all times.

 

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities;

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the Human Resources operations and processes (including tasks such as payroll management). Providing hands-on and practical guidance to Management, Employees and HR Team members
  • Developing and maintaining an annual HR Budget with the support of the country’s CFO
  • Oversee the recruitment strategy, policy and practices, leading the HR planning for recruitment efforts, including succession planning and career pathing. Ensuring that a recruitment strategy is developed that meets the needs of the organization structure and takes into account the rural settings many roles will be based in.
  • Oversee the development of the Talent Management process with a focus on process/cost efficiencies and coordination across the business including a good clear succession planning process. This will include implementing a great performance evaluation process across the organization that Employees and Managers understand and use.
  • Lead, manage and participate in cross-functional initiatives including employee engagement initiatives
  • Collaborate on internal investigations and conduct processes concerning potential violations of policy, practices, or values.
  • Review complaint and develops investigation plans, gathers data and facts, conduct interviews, analyze data, write comprehensive reports with findings and recommendations for action and ensure appropriate retention and filing of investigation-related documents
  • Lead and establishes programs to retain high calibre, well-performing staff through learning programs, performance management, career pathing, succession planning, and career development.
  • Develop resourceful approaches to training delivery, including training for managers, and onboarding for staff.
  • Lead the HR team to own and drive compliance with policies, including delivery of effective policy training, in alignment with overall Learning strategies, meeting deadlines, using appropriate internal and external communications, tools and resources
  • Manage and oversee the use and development of the internal HR system ensuring that it is used as effectively as possible and becomes an integral part of the employee experience

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in HR Management, Business/Public Administration or related
  • Must have a minimum of 7+ in Human Resources with a busy organization with huge stuff Compliment
  • Must have at least 3-4 HR Working Experience with either a Commercial Bank or a well-established Microfinance Institution
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Zambian labour laws, regulations, and practices.
  • Proven advanced ability to recruit, hire, train, supervise and develop staff.
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices, guidelines, regulations, and standards for managing Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of the employee life cycle from recruiting through separation of employment
  • Advanced knowledge of legal requirements, procedures, and practices for filing and maintaining HR records
  • Demonstrated expertise in organizational effectiveness, talent management, and working within a matrix structure.
  • Proven knowledge of the elements of compliance, and organizational risks in relation to HR and Legal matters
  • Must be a member of the ZIHRM with a valid practising certificate
