Yalelo Ltd is a fast-growing aquaculture business which farms Tilapia bream on Lake Kariba in Siavonga and distributes them to Lusaka and the rest of Zambia. Coxswains x2
A Coxswain is responsible for the conveyance of feed, food, staff members, and other materials between the shore and the grow out sites on the lake as well as basic maintenance of boats / conveyance vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily routine checks of the boat engine, fuel, water, oil, battery condition, throttle of lever, and steering, safety equipment prior to launch of craft.
• Safe handling and maneuvering of the boat to transport supplies from land to the lake.
• Looks after the safety of self, fellow passengers, and the boat, taking into consideration of weather condition to safely transporting of passengers.
• Responsible in carrying out daily checks and housekeeping of the craft, ensuring full readiness for use.
• Reports all accidents and incidents to the Coxswain Supervisor.
• Takes part in company’s safe practices and be part of safety system.
• Fully conversant with station emergencies and all relevant regulations
• Maintains cordial and good relations with all the offshore staff.

Duration: Permanent

Minimum Qualification & Experience:

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Able to read and write.
• Launch master qualification.
• A minimum of 2-3 years’ operating boats and other water conveyance vessels
• Must be able to swim.
• Must be a resident of  Siavonga
