Multiskilled Operator Trainer Hitachi Construction Machinery Zambia

Purpose of the role:

The Operator Training will join a versatile training team and be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day planning, organizing, and conducting instructions for operator training is done by constant liaison with management, understanding the Hitachi training philosophy, customer needs and expectations, familiarizing with all Hitachi equipment (Mining and Construction).

Reports to: Assistant Manager – Training & Human Capital

Branch: Lusaka

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Operator Trainer shall be required to prepare and conduct the following tasks related to the Operation of Hitachi mining and construction equipment:

• Offer Operator training and guidance to staff and customers on Hitachi Products.
• Develop and compile training texts and materials.
• Arrangement and management of training texts and materials
• General and Technical guidance of Hitachi Products to customers
• Ensure that all pre-requirements for all trainings are met.
• Managing all training facilities
• Develop skills map for all internal staff and customers related to machine operations.
• Develop and document training plans in liaison with section Manager.
• Fostering of Instructors
• Document all trainings conducted appropriately.
• Maintain and upgrade all training facilities/aids.

Qualifications & Experience

• Must have a Full Grade 12 Certificate.
• 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a mining environment on Mining Dump Trucks and Mining Excavators.
• Experience on the Hitachi mining Excavators (EX1900, EX2500, EX3600, EX5500) and Dump Trucks (EH3500AC-2/3, EH4500-2) will be a sure advantage.
• Must have a valid and recognizable operator certificate.
• Any engineering qualification will be an added advantage.
• Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
