Workshop Manager Fidelity Labour Consultants Ltd

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the technical budget.
  • Oversee maintenance to the vehicle fleet.
  • Manage maintenance of facilities, tools and equipment.
  • Control workshop tools and equipment.
  • Manage engineering administration functions
  • Supervise workshop personnel and identify developmental needs.
  • Ensure that the Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations are adhered to in the workshop.
  • Monitor Asset Register.
  • Liaise with Manufacturers and Suppliers to ensure optimal service delivery.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the transport industry, technical / engineering practices and procedures as they relate to the operation and maintenance of trucks.
  • Able to demonstrate financial management principles & procedures, especially budget management.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act including stock management procedures and stores management.
  • Good analytic thinking, problem-solving skills, planning and organizing skills.
  • Ability to present and display sound judgement
  • Attention to detail
  • Diagnostic Ability
  • Good verbal / written Communication skills and project management skills.
  • Negotiation Skills
  • Progressive leadership Skills and excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications i.e., word, excel, power-point.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Diesel mechanic or Auto electrical
  • Proven track record of fleet management
  • At least two years management experience
  • 5- 8 years working experience with heavy duty maintenance.
