Are you a skilled and responsible driver looking for a flexible role that allows you to make a meaningful impact on global health initiatives? Jhpiego, a leading global health organization, is seeking Relief Drivers to cover project areas on an as-needed basis. As a Relief Driver, you will play a crucial role in facilitating safe travel for Jhpiego staff during program activities, ensuring smooth implementation, and maintaining the security of the project vehicle. This is a part-time position, and you will be called to serve as a relief driver as and when required in the following areas where FHN and MSGL Projects operates: Choma, Kabwe, Kasama, Chinsali, Chipata, and Mansa.
STUFF WE’LL TRUST YOU WITH / RESPONSBILITIES
- Driving Jhpiego staff for project work as required.
- Ensure that the project vehicle is clean and in good working condition.
- Perform daily errands as assigned Ensure all road safety accessories are secured in the project vehicle.
- Ensure passengers adhere to all safety regulations such as wearing of safety belts.
- Conduct a weekly checklist of vehicle condition and submits to supervisor for review.
- Ensure security of vehicle at all times.
- Adherence to Jhpiego’s vehicle use policy manual
- Any other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Basic minimum Grade Twelve certificate
- Basic computer knowledge
- Experience working as a driver preferably in International Non- Governmental Organizations for 2- 3 years
- Valid driver’s license with 5 years driving experience
- Experience in providing administrative assistance to a development project.
- Excellent knowledge of traffic rules and road laws of Zambia.
- Valid and clean driver’s license, with 5 years driving experience.
- Proven driving experience and familiarity with the local roads in the project areas (Choma, Kabwe, Kasama, Chinsali, Chipata, and Mansa).
- Excellent driving skills and a demonstrated track record of safe driving practices.
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule, being available as and when needed for relief driving assignments.
- Strong sense of responsibility and reliability, ensuring timely responses to relief driving requests.
- Good communication skills, including proficiency in [insert relevant languages spoken in the project areas.
