Tyre King Enterprises Limited is one of the leading specialized automobile tyre retailers in Zambia and is currently operating in fifteen (15) tyre/battery sales and fitment centres in Zambia. Tyre King is vigorously growing and expanding its footprint in Zambia.

1.0 THE ROLE: HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER

Contract period: 24 months (renewable)

Location: Lusaka

We are currently looking for a Human Resource Officer who will be responsible for providing and facilitating the day-to-day Human Resource functions, contributing to a productive workforce and to provide Human Resource support needed by all departments and branches.

2.0 PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To support the Head – Human Resource & Administration by providing and facilitating the day-today comprehensive Human Resource functions in the management of the human resource, contributing to a productive workforce and to provide Human Resource support needed by all departments and branches.

2.0 KEY DUTIES WILL INCLUDE

Human Resource Management

  • To implement and provide uniform interpretation of human resource policies and procedures
  • To coordinate monitoring, reviewing and processing of employment contracts in a timely manner to comply with established contractual obligations.
  • To compile and produce HR reports every month/quarter/year or as required.
  • To facilitate recruitment processes and orientation programs.
  • To regularly review and update job descriptions in step with technological changes.
  • To conduct aptitude and other tests for prospective candidates. Staff Welfare Schemes/ Benefits/Separations
  • To implement and monitor staff welfare schemes including the NHIMA Medical Scheme registration.
  • To implement defined pension schemes and facilitate retirement benefits for employees.

Performance Management System

  • To monitor and guide on the implementation of performance evaluation tools, methods, formats and plans.
  • To compile performance ratings and management reviews for Management use.
  • To prepare performance review feedback to employees. Training and Development
  • To facilitate staff training and capacity building and review/evaluate the impact of such programs.
  • To coordinate coaching and mentoring of employees for improved performance across the company.
  • To facilitate orientation of new and old employees
  • To conduct in-house training programs on HR policies and practices.

Human Resource Information System (HRIS)

  • To prepare and present monthly/quarterly/yearly reports on staffing details, turnover, contracts, etc.
  • To regularly and consistently update the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to ensure the database is current and the contents are up to date.

Grievance Handling & Disciplinary Management

  • To promote a fair, conducive and productive work environment through the enforcement of Tyre King Values and Code of Conduct.
  • To facilitate and coordinate the handling of employee grievances and disciplinary procedures. Health & Safety at Work (HASAW)
  • To enforce the use of prescribed protective clothing by employees as applicable across the company;
  • To investigate work accidents, take appropriate actions and produce reports to management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

The following knowledge and skills are the minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Studies or other Social Science field.
  • Fully paid up member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM).
  • Must possess a valid practicing license from ZIHRM.
  • Minimum of three years’ work experience working as a Human Resource Practitioner in a reputable organization/institution.

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Team player to fit into diverse environment.
  • Great attention to detail
  • Computer literate able to work with Microsoft Office and other applications.
