JOB SUMMARY
IA is seeking a motivated and skilled Livestock Extension Officer for Western Province. The company therefore invites applications from suitable qualified candidates to fill the position of Livestock Extension Officer
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide husbandry extension
- Carry out herd health practices including vaccinations
- Train farmers in animal husbandry
- Register farmers on digital platform
- Monitor and Evaluation
- Undertaking any other responsibilities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Full grade 12 certificate
- A candidate with a Diploma or Degree in Veterinary Medicine or Agriculture is preferable, but candidates with more than 3 years’ work experience will also be considered.
- Must be computer literate with better skills in MS applications i.e., Excel, Word, Power point
- Mature and responsible individual
- Speak, read and write in Lozi and English
OTHER SKILLS
- Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good communicator, able to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Stable personality with passion for livestock and farmers
- Team player able to work with minimum supervision
- Leadership and managerial skills
- Fast leaner and easy to adapt to new environments
