This role is based in Lusaka, Zambia.
What will you do?
Bixal seeks a Learning Hub and Logistics Manager for the USAID Zambia Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Platform (MEL) activity to provide technical, administrative, and programmatic support services to the USAID/Zambia Mission in the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies and programs related to Mission priorities.
Specifically, this contract will provide USAID Zambia, implementing partners (IPs), and local country stakeholders with: 1. demand-driven MEL support services, 2. a Learning Hub Facility space, and 3. event management, communications, and logistical support services.
The ideal candidate is a solution-oriented, engaged, resourceful professional with USAID experience in events, knowledge management, and operations. This role will be critical in coordinating events, workshops, and meetings to create a conducive environment for collaborating, learning, and adapting (CLA).
Important note:
This is a full-time proposal position contingent on contract award.

Responsibilities

      • Lead the coordination and execution of Learning Hub events, workshops, and meetings.
      • Manage a team of event and logistics professionals, providing leadership and training in best practices for effective event management.
      • Scope out potential events with the USAID client and implementing partners; developing timelines for key deliverables and managing expectations for the event schedule.
      • Work closely with the A/V Technicians and manage deliverables for A/V needs.
      • Lead planning, dry-runs, and production support for events. Provide lead producer support for major events.
      • Directly implement, plan and/or manage appropriate and successful use of knowledge sharing technology as part ofevents and activities.
      • Coordinate with technical staff to ensure integration and alignment in delivering quality products and services that drive utilization of knowledge.
      • Manage tight deadlines through management of theEvent Tracker; communicating with all team members during Team Huddles, to make sure that everyone is on schedule.
      • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in international development, event management, logistics, communications, or related field.
    • 8 years of experience in event management and logistics coordination for international development or similar projects.
    • USAID experience strongly preferred.
    • Solution-oriented and eager to promote a collaborative, flexible, and creative working environment and relationship among team members, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders.
    • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with evidence of ability to establish strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
