Strategic Information Assistant Right to Care Zambia

Right to Care is at the vanguard in supporting and delivering prevention, care, and treatment services for HIV and associated diseases. We work with government and communities to find pioneering solutions to build and strengthening public healthcare.

Our areas of expertise include HIV and TB care and treatment, pharmacy automation, medical male circumcision, and cervical cancer diagnosis and treatment.

In 2021, Right to Care Zambia was awarded a five-year project funded by USAID through the PEPFAR mechanism. The USAID Action HIV project aims to reduce HIV mortality, morbidity and transmission by achieving the UNAIDS and PEPFAR goal of 95/95/95 HIV treatment coverage by providing comprehensive HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment maintenance services in Luapula, Northern and Muchinga provinces of Zambia. The USAID Action HIV project will work closely with and in support of the Ministry of Health.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in IMIS, ICT, Public Health or Social sciences
  • 2 years’ experience in M&E working in a health facility.
  • 1-year field experience with questionnaire and survey data
  • SmartCare Knowledge and experience

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree IMIS, ICT or Social sciences
  • 3 years’ experience in M & E working in a health facility.
  • Entering & Interpretation of health information systems (HMIS)
  • Working knowledge of HIV/AIDs
  • Experience in Microsoft office suite

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Participate in collection and analysis of data from the health facilities (Both Static & satellite facilities)
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry in SMARTCARE™ and facility registers in all service delivery points.
  • Stay updated on all aspects of SMARTCARE, DHIS II and other systems implementation, including version upgrades, user training, installation procedures, data cleaning procedures, reporting functionalities, and flow of dispatches.
  • Ensure all patient files are filed correctly.
  • Maintain appointment records for patients on ART and retrieve all files for patients to be seen.
  • Resolve inconsistencies and verification of Daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports generated by health facility.
  • Disseminate Facility Information at weekly, monthly and Quarterly Review and Assessment meetings.
  • Assist ACTION HIV team with data validation and data cleaning on weekly, monthly, and Quarterly basis, including addressing any queries, gaps and errors.
  • Participate in quarterly data quality audits.
    Compile Daily, Weekly, monthly and quarterly ACTION HIV/MOH reports within deadlines.
  • Submit on weekly and monthly basis, SMARTCARE™ Transport Databases (TDBs) and MER reports.
  • Assist ACTION HIV team on monthly basis with updating facility data dashboards and cascades and compiling/presenting graphs on indicators relating to various programmatic reviews and planning meetings.
  • Conduct facility level data analysis and interpretation of results.
  • Stay informed of ACTION HIV reporting requirements and procedures relating to HIV, including the relevant health information system policies, facility-Level and district level SOPs, ART M&E SOP, HMIS policies and SOPs, and the seven organizational objectives.
  • Cascades and run charts.
  • Co (assist) in capacity building to stakeholders including mentoring of HCWs on SMARTCARE™ usage and HIA/PEPFAR indicators.
  • Capacitate facility staff to enhance the understanding of data and data usage for identifying gaps in clinical service delivery, decision-making, programme improvements, and target-setting.
  • Participate in all health facility and outreach programmes.
  • Perform other associated duties as appointed by the facility In-charge.
