The Role
As our Transport Operations Associate, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our passenger transportation services. You will oversee day-to-day activities, manage our team of dedicated drivers, and ensure our fleet is maintained to the highest standards. Your leadership will drive operational excellence, enhance customer satisfaction, and contribute to our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations, including dispatching drivers and fleet management.
  • Recruit and train new drivers, ensuring they meet our high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage our team of drivers, promoting a culture of excellence and respect.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director to implement strategic initiatives and improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage customer service standards, resolving issues promptly and maintaining high satisfaction levels.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance programs to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Manage the purchasing of spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maintaining inventory levels to support uninterrupted operations.

Requirements:

  • At least a diploma in a business-related field (a Degree will be an advantage)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • A customer-focused approach with exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with transportation regulations and fleet management will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Nyanja and Bemba will be considered an added advantage
  • A valid driving licence and a clean driving record will be an advantage.
