St Ignatius College is looking for a hardworking, proactive, and organized individual to fill the position of College Chief. As a head chief, you will be responsible of overseeing all the kitchen activities by managing other members of the kitchen team, deciding what menu to serve, and choosing ingredients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overseeing all kitchen activities and staff.
- Provide leadership to all kitchen staff members
- Coordinate and direct all food preparation, from prep through service
- Monitor the quality and quantity of all food(s) and beverages.
- Track, record, and maintain inventory stock including foods, beverages, and kitchen supplies.
- Create new recipes and design overall menus, including specials.
- Work effectively and effectively to resolve any problems that arise in the kitchen.
- Research and implement new culinary trends
- Employ food safety best practices and make sure that all kitchen staff members do the same.
- Determine how much food to order and maintain an appropriate supply in the storage.
- Monitor the kitchen budget.
- Ensure that the kitchen environment is always clean.
- Prepare records and work plan for presentation to College Management.
- Manage and control kitchen tools.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATION
- Grade 12 Leaving School Certificate.
- Certificate/Diploma/Degree in catering and food production
- Proven experience as chief.
- Ability to prepare written reports and work plans.
- Ability to communicate and report effectively.
- Ability to speak and write English fluently.
- Must be able to multitask.
- Must be able to work under minimum supervision.
- 2 – 3 years of work experience.
