ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
In line with the CSP and the Partnership Strategy, the position manages effective relationships and collaborates with various partners to meet WFP strategic objectives and plays a key liaison role by effectively representing WFP externally to safeguard and promote its interests. The job holder consistently demonstrates a high degree of responsibility and initiative and independently proposes opportunities for sustainable collaboration and have the technical expertise and knowledge required to adapt and develop partnership processes to continually improve the resource mobilization initiatives.

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, Communication and Reports, the job holder will engage a whole range of partners from both the public and private sectors comprising among others; governments, UN agencies, intergovernmental institutions and their member states, international financial institutions, individuals, corporations, foundations, and NGOs.

JOB PURPOSE

To perform specialized partnership activities and contribute to the development of strategic partnerships both internal (functional units) and external (public and private sectors) to enhance WFP’s resource base that supports the CO’s effective and efficient programming.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Coordinate and deliver specialized public and private partnership processes and activities, to support the timely preparation and execution of partnership initiatives.
Liaise with the public and private partners and other key stakeholders, providing and facilitating a regular partner profiling to ensure the maintenance of an up-to-date partnership portfolio.
Coordinate and make recommendations on potential partners, and in collaboration with programmes ensure development of proposals aimed at securing potential funding for various programmes.
Monitor traditional and potential partners and collate relevant information with the aim of maximizing resources and leverage policy and technical support for WFP’s work and partner visibility.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to keep abreast with relevant partnership information and enhance WFP’s effective positioning with the national government, regional and international institutions with the aim to influence the policy agenda.
Collaborate with programmes and other enabling units to effectively implement the partnerships work plan to enable WFP to identify, develop, and strengthen quality partnerships in support of CO strategic objectives.
Provide advice on partnerships guidelines, to ensure that core corporate procedures and policies are adhered to and ensure that relevant information is collected, and maintained in appropriate files and databases, for the availability of accurate records and easy access.
Source partnership inputs, including operational updates, from other units to inform strategic public and private partners on WFP’s programmatic operations and contributions to the national development agenda and the SDGs.
Perform other duties as required.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Advanced University degree in Political Science, International Development, Business Administration, Development Economics, International Relations, Law, Marketing, Communications or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional work experience in a partnership role or related areas.

Knowledge & Skills:

Depth knowledge and comprehensive understanding of grant management processes, IRM framework, WFP rules and regulations (including financial ones) and of IPSAS rules.
Authoritative knowledge and expertise, gained through specialized training and work experience, of grants management processes and procedures and WINGS GM Module.
Excellent leadership, planning and communication skills to ensure effective coordination with a wide range of staff members in matters related to grants management.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and monitor budgets.
Ability to carry out complex data analysis to identify process improvements.
Experience in supervising, supporting, and or training others, as well as coordinating resources and organizing own work.
Ability to assert opinions and persuade others by developing logical and well-reasoned arguments.
Language: Fluent in both written and spoken English language.
