Background: The Alliance for Children Everywhere Zambia (AECZ) is hiring a driven , hardworking, and capable professional to take over the resource mobilization portfolio.

Alliance for Children Everywhere has been in existence for over 50 years, and in Zambia for over 25 years. In Zambia, our work spans orphans and vulnerable children, education, systems change for family based care, and community based family empowerment. We have over 100 employees or stipend positions, and our work impacts over 3,000 children.

We are now looking to hire a standout individual as Manager, Resource Mobilization. with a bias towards grant and proposal writing. The ACEZ has had high impact initiatives and these have been sustained by the loyal donors of the organization. The organization would like to spread its wings of impact and reach even more target populations.

We will be looking for a self driven individual that is able to work creatively with minimum supervision. An individual that shares in the vision of the organization and has a genuine desire to see success at the ACEZ.

Reporting: The position will be hired and domiciled at ACEZ Administration Block, Chelstone Green area and will report directly to the Country Director

Job Description:

Job Purpose:

Support the development, coordination and implementation of ACEZ’s overall resource mobilization the furtherance of strategic partnerships, including, proposal writing, fundraising and strategic communication to support ACEZ’s work.

Duties/Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the finalization and implementation of a Resource Mobilization and Communications Strategy;
  • Be instrumental in the ACEZ Brand awareness and promotion
  • Develops and maintains a current understanding and profile of ACEZ’s programs;
  • Develops concept notes, proposals and budgets which drive the achievement of ACEZ’s strategic plan and align with both ACEZ and donor priorities;
  • Prospecting bilateral, multilateral, philanthropic, and private sector partners and translating partnership opportunity into both funds and leverage in furtherance of program and resource targets;
  • Leads on the design, implementation and coordination of an institution-wide, comprehensive donor relations and stewardship system that fosters positive and mutually rewarding relations between ACEZ and its donors;
  • Participates in donor relationship management by ensuring donor retention and growth while cultivating new partners;
  • Contributes to and reviews ACEZ’s strategy documents and knowledge management products to help best position the institution for resource mobilization;
  • Organizes briefings, meetings, visits and events with current and prospective donors, coordinates programmatic and logistical arrangements, draft reports and set action plans for follow-up;
  • Responds to internal and prepares response to external queries regarding donor contributions;
  • Supports teams to ensure compliance on donor and ACEZ requirements, including ensuring timely and quality reporting;
  • Leads on coordination and implementation of communication strategy and plan awareness to support operations;
  • Supports the Country Director in identifying representational events with the potential for meaningful donor interaction. Provide proactive and timely advice to senior management on strategic interaction with individual donors;
  • Formulate policies governing Gifts in Kind (GIK) and others donations e,g Cash, services
  • Identification and implementation of Income Generating Activities (IGAs) for ACEZ
  • Advise ACEZ on investment opportunities
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, or any other relevant field. Masters or other extra qualifications related to business development or resource mobilization will be an added advantage but not a must.

Record of success: Minimum of 6 years experience and a record of having succeeded in a similar role is a must. Demonstrated success in some of the most outstanding aspects of this job is an attribute we’ll be keenly looking out for.
