Position: Registered Nurse/Midwife Interns

Number of Positions: 09

Location: Muchinga Province (Mpika – Chitulika RHC, Nakonde – Katozi HP) Luapula Province (Chienge – Sambula RHC, Nchelenge – Kashikishi RHC, Mwense – Kashiba RHC, Kawambwa – Kawambwa HAHC) Northern Province (Makasa RHC, Namukolo RHC, Lubushi RHC)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Ordinary level (GCSE)/ Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Diploma Nursing/ Midwifery,
  • Must have Graduated NOT Earlier than 2020.
  • Fully paid-up member of National Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

Degree: Nursing/ Midwifery

  • Volunteer or internship experience in ART Management, Paediatric treatment and care, HIV Counselling, ART adherence, PMTCT Management and EID Services an added advantage.

TECHNICAL AND BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES

  • Good time management skills and ability to determine priorities.

  • Counselling skills.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Participate in the implementation of targeted, high yield testing strategies such as index testing of sexual networks, HIV self-testing in men and AGYW with confirmation and linkage to care, and optimized PITC, to ensure that 95 percent of PLHIV across all age and sex bands know their HIV status.
  • Participate in ensuring that 95 percent of those who newly test positive through rapid initiation protocols at the facility and in the community are initiated on.
  • Participate in rapid initiation to reduce the number of people lost between testing and initiation and reduce the need to bring people who know their status but are not on treatment back into care.
  • Participate in ensuring that 95 percent of those initiated to care are virally suppressed.
  • Participate in monitoring the VL suppression rates, scale up VL testing services, including increasing testing capacity, demand creation, specimen transport, and result utilization.
  • Participate in providing clinical care in line with vital signs of all clients reviewed at facility level.
  • Participate in identifying and diagnosing opportunistic infections.
  • Participate in making NACS available to 90 percent of those eligible to improve the nutrition of ART patients, thereby improving adherence, retention and VL suppression.
  • Participate in Providing age-band targeted VMMC to avert new infections and reduce the spread of HIV. Implement PrEP among high-risk key and priority populations such as sex workers and adolescents and young adults. Provide Cervical Cancer screening to all the eligible women in the facilities.
  • Participate in ensuring data quality and completion in registers, clients, files, and tools every day to improve quality care to clients.
  • Participate in ensuring timely input of data and submission of reports such as the facility daily report feedback and submission of facility summary reports on respective organisation platforms requiring your monitoring and reporting input.
