Carbon Credit Intern (Part Time) – x3 Innovation: Africa

Background

Innovation: Africa is a non-profit organization dedicated to implementing Israeli solar, water, and agriculture technologies in rural African villages. Since its establishment in 2008, Innovation: Africa has successfully executed over 1,000 projects, providing clean water and electricity to more than 5 million people across six African countries: Malawi, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, and Cameroon.

We are seeking dedicated Carbon Credit Interns to support our efforts in acquiring Carbon Credits. The interns will play a crucial role in conducting surveys within the communities we serve and assisting in data collection related to Carbon Credit eligibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys in rural villages and communities served by Innovation: Africa.
  • Collect data by engaging with community members and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in reviewing and finalizing the collected data sets.
  • Potentially contribute to additional tasks based on experience and needs.

What You Will Gain:

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into development work, impact assessment, sustainability, and Carbon Credits. You will collaborate closely with our local team, engineers, field officers, managers, headquarters staff, and internal databases, providing invaluable exposure to the fields of sustainability and development.

Compensation:

This is a part-time position that requires varying availability throughout 2024. Nonetheless, consistent commitment throughout the year is required. We are fully committed to supporting your journey, and compensation will be offered through a daily stipend, acknowledging your dedication and experience.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Candidates from diverse backgrounds with an interest in development, sustainability, impact assessment, water quality, WASH, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
  • Prior experience in data collection, community engagement, sustainability, or WASH is an advantage.
  • Must be a resident of Chipata (Eastern Province)
  • Must be able to speak Nyanja. The ability to speak Chewa/Nsenga is an added advantage.
