DevOps Engineer DotGov Solutions Zambia Ltd

We are seeking a talented and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Azure cloud services, and a passion for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices. The role involves collaborating with development, operations, and testing teams to automate and streamline our software delivery processes and ensuring system up-time.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Manage Azure as well as physical resources in a cost-effective way.
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the reliability and
    performance of our systems.
  • Manage and optimize containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to improve build and release
    processes.
  • Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery policies to ensure the
    integrity and availability of critical data and systems.
  • Conduct regular backups of data and applications and perform periodic tests to validate the effectiveness of disaster recovery procedures.
  • Document backup and recovery processes, including step-by-step instructions and escalation procedures.
  • Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure that backup and
    recovery practices align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Respond promptly to any incidents or outages, and coordinate with cross
    functional teams to restore services and minimize downtime.

Requirements:

  • Full Grade-12 Certificate with at least 5 O-Levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2 Years minimum work experience.
  • Certified or interested in attaining AZ-400 or higher certification.
  • Proficiency in C# programming language.
  • Experience working with both Linux and Windows server operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing principles and Azure services.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Rancher, Terraform or Ansible.
  • Experience developing and implementing backup and disaster recovery policies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
