Maintenance Controller Zambian Breweries Plc Lusaka (ABInbev)

The key purpose of this role is to co-ordinate, coach and control the activities of the level one maintenance teams in the production environment and to provide specialist technical advice to ensure maximum equipment availability.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Manage Planned Maintenance

  • Assist with development of maintenance plan.
  • Execute maintenance activities.
  • Ensure that correct spares are available.
  • Ensure correct tools are available.
  • Conduct planned job observations.
  • Manage issues emanating from system usage reports
  • Ensure asset care business process are adhered to

Maintain Safe, Healthy and Risk free working environment

  • Implement safety, health & environmental legislation and procedures
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards

Manage Human Resources

  • Ensure that artisans execute maintenance plan to standard and optimise artisan time utilisation.
  • Develop employees
  • Ensure a healthy industrial relations climate
  • Manage and apply personnel practices.

Optimise Process Performance

  • Conduct engineering administration
  • Support continuous improvement

Facilitate Problem Solving

  • Identify problems or potential problems
  • Facilitate problem solving

Optimise Team Processes

  • Facilitate effective team dynamics
  • Implement performance management
  • Communicate effectively in the workplace

Manufacturing Way

  • Ensure that all team members are fully conversant with the manufacturing way and Global Evaluation of Manufacturing (GEM)
  • Develop and drive implementation plans to progress maturity in the manufacturing way principles and practices

Key Attributes and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing way strategies and initiatives
  • Good knowledge of packaging production processes and technologies
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Analytical problem solver
  • Influencing ability with regards to sound maintenance practices

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Min – BSc Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical)
  • Ideal – Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with Diploma in Packaging (IBD)
  • Training: Min – Complete Engineering Traineeship or Diploma in Packaging plus 3 months on the job training
  • Experience: 1 Year – 1 years as a
  • Maintenance Planner, 4 years as machine specialist in more than 1 machine
  • Member of EIZ
