Key Performance Areas

  • Develop and Execute Commercial Strategy.
  • Develop and monitor the annual budget on a monthly basis.
  • Deliver sales targets on all product categories in volume and  value for local and export sales.
  • Drive profitable revenue growth through mix optimisation to maximize profit for the company.
  • Develop and execute appropriate pricing strategy in liaison with the Marketing function and Country Manager, and ensure penetration of new markets to grow sales and maximize product availability in all channels.
  • Drive the efficient execution of the sales orders.
  • Liaise with production and Distribution to ensure a correct product mix is produced and stocked for customers at all times.
  • Ensure the efficient coordination of the Telesales Team.
  • Ensure proper management of all channels so as to grow sales and market share.
  • Manage the merchandising activities to ensure there are no Out of Stock situations in all channels.
  • Manage reverse product flow by identifying opportunities to reduce unwanted returns and stock losses.
  • Expeditious response to customer complaints to avoid loss of sales and ensure customer retention.
  • Maintain healthy relationships with all customers.
  • Ensure efficient listing of new products in the stores to maximize sales.
  • Preparation and Presentation of sales reports for Senior Management.
  • Understand customer needs and ensure alignment with the needs/commitments of the business.
  • Create policies, procedures and Standard Operating Procedures for warehouse activities and ensure implementation.
  • Nurture a mature and motivated staff complement through continuous training and employee engagement at all functional levels.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of Degree in Sales and Marketing or any relevant Commercial Qualification such as degree in Marketing, CIM , Business Administration or equivalent
  • Grade 12 school certificate or Matric
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Sales Management in a Senior Management level and preferably in FMCG industry.
  • Knowledge of fleet management.
  • Computer literate
  • Preference will be given to local Zambian applicants


  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Extensive knowledge of plant and distribution centres’ operations
  • The following abilities: able to act independently, investigative and auditing skills, research skills, able to understand and interpret figures, able to lead and supervise a team, able to quickly adapt to change and able to work under pressure but deliver results.
