Kalene Hills Fruit Company Limited (“KFCL”) is a company that is wholly owned by Zambia Fruit Company, a subsidiary of the Industrial Development Corporation. The Company  is located in Mwinilunga District of North Western Province. The Company has a hybrid fruit and vegetable processing plant with a processing capacity of more than 3 metric tonnes per hour.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

a) Planning, controlling and co-ordinating the human resource function with the view of acquiring and retaining quality employees to meet ETF objectives.
b) Implement all human resource policies and procedures on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures, and absence management.
c) Work closely with various departments, increasingly in an advisory role, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures.
d) Recruit staff, which involves developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing, and selecting candidates.

e) Plan and ensure systematic induction for all new employees.
f) Maintain personal files and update them regularly.
g) Track the attendance of all staff as per Company requirements and communication.
h) Track leave database, eligibility, availed and closing balances of leaves.
i) Coordinate and manage a wide range of employee engagement activities on regular basis.
j) Advise on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits
k) Negotiate with staff and their representatives (for example, trade union officials) on issues relating to pay and conditions, contracts, and redundancy packages
l) Administer payroll and maintain employee records
m) Interpret and advise on employment law.
n) Deal with grievances and implement disciplinary procedures
o) Plan and sometimes deliver training.
p) Analyse training needs in conjunction with departmental managers.
q) Provision of logistical and other administrative services in order to enhance individual and organization performance and facilitate smooth operations of the company.

Job Specifications

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Minimum Diploma in human resources management or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Should be a member of Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) with a valid practicing license
