Head of Marketing & DTR shall report directly to the Head Commercial Operations, who report to the CEO

He/She will be responsible for both DTR operations and Marketing for existing and new brands of the organization. This person is expected to divide his/her time schedule with a 60:40 ratio on Marketing & DTR operations. This is a fairly senior role within the organization, therefore it is expected that this person has leadership qualities and a mature head on their shoulders.

Key responsibilities

Marketing

  1. Existing Categories
  2. Plan the annual marketing calendar for all existing product categories and align with the Mgmt team
  3. Brand management and segregation to understand commercial opportunities to drive sales
  4. Coordinate with Sales Teams to understand their requirements for marketing support
  5. Identify and coordinate with Marketing, Research and Activation agencies to execute all the strategies
  6. Work out budget requirements for the year, break it down into quarters and manage the spending within approved plans.
  7. Evaluate execution quality with respect to actual results and take corrective actions
  8. Spend at least 5-10 days in the market to understand the brand and corporate needs
  9. Develop marketing programs/inputs for export markets such as DRC, South Africa, USA and others through collaboration within Country Managers as required
  10. Take lead with designers to create and enhance packaging design elements for pillow-pouch and tetrapak formats
  11. Closely collaborate with Marketing Agencies for ATL / BTL designs and execution

  2. Plan and execute complete marketing strategy for a new range of products
  3. Workout ATL – TV/Radio/ Outdoor/Digital content through Agencies and execute with most feasible/cost-effective method
  4. Plan and execute BTL activations through Agencies
  5. Coordinate with other commercial team members for best execution of all marketing inputs

Direct to Retail (DTR) Operations

1. Head DTR channel operations and ensure all sales targets are met across categories

2. Hire, Train, Manage and review all the DTR team members

3. Ensure Order Capture beats and Van Sales beats are in order as per the strategy

4. Ensure productivity performance of his team members in on a positive trend

5. Measure and discuss productivity metrics of all the team members

6. Design and set processes for smooth operations of this channel

7. Be present at the Gate Meetings in the mornings and conduct periodic reviews of all the staff members

8. Design and implement promos for this channel

Key Qualifications & Requirements

1. Excellent communication and presentation skills

2. Expert in MS Office Suite

1. Working Knowledge of Illustrator or Photoshop

3. Team and Leadership Management

4. Digital Media and E-commerce conversant

5. Personality: Self-motivated, Aggressive in Sales and Marketing activities

6. At least 10-15 years experience with good Food/FMCG organizations with notable reference

7. Must have managed BTL activities in their previous assignments
